My negative terminal used to get hot because it could not make a tight connection. I'm not saying anything anyone else hasn't said in this post as far as a lose connection being the culprit. I will say, that you should put the battery back in the truck, clean the terminals with a wire brush and...
I believe the rod I had was factory (it may have been the last thing on the truck;)) There just wasn't much adjustment. It was already maxed out. I had to do the same thing on my Ford Diesel.
Wish I had seen this before I got #H380538 flex hose from Advance for $27.99. It fits, but did not change my pumping issues at all. I noticed that there was play betewn the slave and the fork/leaver. the rod was adjusted all the way out, but the slave had to extend ~1/2" before it pushed the...
I agree, It does seem like I still have air in the system. I have only ever gravity bled clutches, just put a new master on the 4-runner w/o any trouble (I don't have a vacuum pump). I've replaced both the slave/master, but not the lines. I agree they are very rough looking, but no signs of...
This might be a question for the Diesel comunity, but since this thread was going I thought I'd jump on it.
For about a year in the HJ45 I have had to pump my clutch. What I mean is the 1st push on the pedal goes to the floor, then 1 or 2 more pushes before it builds pressure and functions...
I like the idea of the Al panels for durability, but $115+SH is a little more then is in the panel budget. My question is: has anyone made reproduction panels from 1/4" hardwood veneer plywood?

All this talk about BFH reminds me of an interaction with an Amish guy the other day (sorry):)
So I'm at the Amish tractor tire shop (Yoder's Tires) getting fluid put in one tractor. I have another tractor that I'm trying to move the wheels in on and can't get the nuts loose. Factory spec. is...
Loosen up the adjusters. Look for an oval shaped hole. They will be on the side visible from the back. The tool for it is called a "brake spoon" but a flat head screw driver or butter knife works just as well. It's just a dial that expands/loosens the pads. The Haynes manual shows a good diagram...
I'm surprised NAPA couldn't help you out. It seems like any shop that makes hydraulic lines or brake lines could make one for you. I'm not sure what that would be around you, maybe someone else will chime in. I'd look in the phone book. The place that helped me out a lot when I lived in...
Is the Cummins 3.3B really that great of an engine. I rented a chipper w/ one and really didn't like it. It's small, has a rotatory IP and generally lacked "balls". That was compared to our larger chipper which sported a unstoppable Cummins 4BT.
I'm still saying get rid of the gasser and go...
If MPG is an issue then you should get rid of that trashy V8 and get a diesel. I quit driving my FJ40 to work when gas reached $3/gallon b/c I didn't make any money.
Not wanting to blow my slave out again I shortened my pedal rod and slave push rod. I need a little bit more to fully disengage the clutch. Should I adjust the slave rod or pedal 1st?
FYI: Carquest had the slave. It's part# S1602 for $35
I wouldn't say they are that leaky. Not enough to warent new seals, but I really do appreciate the grease keeping the back side from rusting. I'm not sure where it goes but every time I go to put grease in them I put a tube a piece, and that's not full. Could be they were empty when I got it and...
