Will 1972 Seats fit an early '71 Model FJ401

It is a single metal container (evap unit?) with the hose outlets at the bottom. You can remove the back of the seat (a few screws) and remove it totally from the seat and then replace the seat back if you like. You can see it poking out the bottom here: and here: Here is the unit by its...

Will 1972 Seats fit an early '71 Model FJ401

The 72 has some smog stuff in the "split" part of the seat, but I do think it will fit with no problem.

Get a duct from a newer model and you will not need the rubber part.

    Sm425 support question

Drill and tap your own shaft. You don't even have to remove it from the tranny. Machine shop can do it, for just a few bucks. Shawn

    SM465 Plate Adaptors

Yes, I have 2 left. Shawn

2F, SM465, 3 speed tcase output shaft length

As Pin_Head said, not easily. Plus the cost to get the shaft from the AA. If you have your heart set on the PTO, I would recommend the AA version of the adaptor. Just make sure nothing else will get in the way of the PTO, like a V8, or Power steering, larger radiator, headers on your F/2F...

2F, SM465, 3 speed tcase output shaft length

With the plate style adaptors, there is no extension available. If you want / need to retain the PTO option on the transfer case, you would need to get something like the Advanced Adaptors SM465 adaptor. It is MUCH longer, and much more expensive, but you can use the factory PTO. Shawn

    Trail Candy

If this is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it. Has anyone else been having problems with Trail Candy? I had a hard time placing an order with them (they would not get back to me on a time frame or a total price for all the stuff I wanted). Then when I get the order it is...

Nervous Man's Engine and Tranny swap: sbc350 and sm465

I'm sorry you had such a problem with getting the shaft drilled and tapped. As you found out, the shaft is REAL HARD. You really need to do it on a mill, and most find that applying heat to it helps a lot! I hope other people see this, and will just skip to the mill option. I do like that...

    BTB Battery Tray

I have the Man-A-Fre (pass side) with a serp setup. Would not work for me. Had to cut the shock support and make a new one so I could move the batt BACK... There are some photos on here if you search. Found some...

    1975 FJ40 2F to sm465

You will need a 3 speed bell housing, new pilot bearing and some other stuff. I am sure some one will chime in on the other stuff. Shawn

    70 FJ40 sat for 11 years, won't start

Photos would help. I am not sure a GM dizzy would mate to the Toyota cam correctly. Others here may know more about that. Check with your local Toyota dealer on the fuel pump, you my be surprised. Shawn

    SM465 Plate Adaptors

I would have to check with the machinist about that. Right now I do have some in Alum ON HAND. When these are gone I can see about steel. Shawn

    Reusing pushrods?

Re-using the push rods is fine. Just make sure you keep the LIFTERS on the same cam lobe they started on if you are not resurfacing the lifters/cam.

    SBC RamHorn Exhaust

Find another shop. I took the same y pipe to my guy and he laughed at it. Made his own, no spacer needed (Less gaskets to fail), and it looks 100% better... The complete system (minus the muffler) was about 150.00. Shawn

    One last brake question

Dual circuit is MUCH safer then the single. You can use single circuit with disc if you have a well balanced system - If you have no need for a port valve. (I guess you could always split the system via a "T" and place the port valve after the "T") Anyway, don't do this. Having said the...

64 fj40 swap to disc brakes?

I would swap the front axel. You have a ball and claw.. Not very strong.

    Steering Cooler Thoughts?
