    RollCage

That factory rubber body mounts are more or less like hockey pucks, so by solid mounting the frame to the body it doesn't affect anything. It also helps reduce frame flex when your out rock crawling or standard trail use. A major defining difference between our cage versus others is the...

    MetalTech cage: shoulder belt attachment?

You can use the box tube method like posted above earlier. Cut the ends at a 45* angle, notch the other end to fit the tubing and drill your bolt pattern for your shoulder harness.

    MetalTech cage: shoulder belt attachment?

Our seat belt mounts are laser cut and formed so there is an additional cost to them. We have the bolt holes laser cut to the OEM bolt pattern if you're re-using your stock seat belt harnesses.

    Front Gears breaking in

The front end does not see nearly as much stress as the rear therefore trying to have a "break in" period for your front diff isn't really necessary. Considering you aren't doing sustained highway speeds to really get your gears hot in the front it is a mute point. The gears in my FJ40 and our...

Metal Tech Full Family cage with all the extras intall...

Those are the early model doors which mean they are thinner and are flush with the body, however it is still a good idea to have the doors when you do the install for fitment. Like other people have mentioned if you do not place the A pillar properly your window crank won't work or you might...

Metal Tech Full Family cage with all the extras intall...

Depends on the door, if it's early model then the A pillar placement isn't critical since the door is flush with the body. If you have late model doors that are thicker then you will have to make sure that the A pillar is in far enough to clear. When I make our cages with late model doors the...

OEM style roll cage upgrade to Family style

We can truck freight in a full family cage into Canada for about $190 plus we have or own brokerage for Canada so we can take care of that up front so you don't have to deal with customs. The A pillar wrapping around the dash is hardly an after thought. It was many hours and hundreds of...

Why doesn't my anti wrap bar fit now?

It is not a slip joint, it is a custom made piece that has threaded body to accept a 1" bolt that threads into it. There is a 1" bolt welded to the shell with the bushing that is pressed in. This allows for a full 360* of twist without any binding. It was a project we were developing and...

Europeans are insane!!! (OME Suspension prices)

We are more than happy to work with overseas customers in getting Land Cruiser products shipped. Currently I am having an OME suspension kit and our roll cage sent to Norway, FJ Cruiser parts going to Saudi Arabia, and possibly 3 - 4 roll cage kits to Holland.

    Alternative springs for SOA conversion.

If you go search over on Pirate4x4 in the Land Cruiser section some guys were running F150 springs back in the day. Otherwise I would use FJ60 springs, they are cheap but you will need to install new spring hangers since they are wider.

    Anybody done a snorkel with a 350?

All the desert racer guys use this style of enclosed air filter, it works really well and it is pretty compact to fit inside the engine compartment of a FJ40. Kartek Off Road - UMP Intakes

Aluminum vs 4 core old school rad

We've installed an aftermarket 4 core replacement radiator for the FJ40 that cooled a 2004 5.3L vortec. We build a custom shroud that covered the entire surface area of the radiator and mounted a 3000cfm fan on it and it stays exactly at 210* like it should be. As long as you have proper air...

    Roll Cages

We use 2 x .120 DOM SRA which has 10% - 12% more elasticity than standard DOM. It is the same OD as the stock cage. We hold our cages to SRCA standards which states that a vehicle weighing over 4,000lbs is a minimum requirement of 2" x .120.

    Roll Cages

A stock roll bar has a wall thickness of .079 while modern cages are made out of .120 wall. That is almost twice the thickness over stock. A stock cage will hold up to maybe a roll over or two but nothing sustained. We recently had a local customer with a one ton drive train and 47" LTB...
