    ARB problem and caution

Odd. My spring eys are 25mm and the hangers are 35mm. Exactly opposite of note 1. The OMESB30 kit has 6 of the 35mm and 2 of the 25mm. Thus the problem.

    ARB problem and caution

I spoke with ARB about their springs and spring bushings. I purchased Old Man Emu shocks and stabilizer, and their OMESB30 spring bushings for my 72 FJ40 project. The OMESB30 is listed as a replacement for that truck. You have buy 4 packages at $35 each, one for each corner. The kit comes...

Have a 72 FJ40 I am building. I am looking for new tires to fit my welded 15" wheels.

Hi Byron, I have been looking at other brands in the 31 size but most review as either noisy or high wear. Do you have an opinion as to whether 29" vs 31" would make that much difference give my intended use?

Have a 72 FJ40 I am building. I am looking for new tires to fit my welded 15" wheels.

I have been looking at the Firestone Destination XT in a 31x10.5x15 but have concerns about road noise. I also looked at the A/T and A/T2. The A/T2 seems to be better for what I am doing but only comes in a 235/75r 15 or 28". Most use will be town and local highway driving with an occasional...

Flat tow FJ40 with lockout REAR hubs

I intend to flat tow my 72 FJ40 (once finished) behind my motorhome. It will not be used for radical rock climbing or anything like that. It will be used as transportation around town, short highway trips and exploring the backcountry. It was recommended that I put a full float rear end in it...

I am trying to find a reasonable priced FJ40 tub. I keep coming to the Columbian connection but have heard bad things about quality and service. Can anyone direct me to a company that provides a good tub?

    1972 fJ40 conversions

Hi LilJohn, The intended use is a little country cruising and town driving. I will be towing behind my motorhome. Once upon a time a rock crawled all around the Rockies in my 69 FJ40 and my 81 FJ40. Just getting too old to bang myself up too much. Still love the FJ40s and want one I can...

    1972 fJ40 conversions

I have a 72 FJ40 that I am attempting to rebuild. It has a 1986 Chevy 350 that runs pretty well and the original 3 speed stick transmission and T case. I really need a 5 speed and have been reading about the various transmissions (NV4500, H55f and R151f) that can be used. I am leaning toward...

Difference between non-split and split t-case

I have a 72 FJ40 with a 350 Chevy conversion. It currently has the original 3 speed and one piece T case. Would love some recommendations as to 4 or 5 speed and any other necessary conversion. This is more of a driver than off road so I do need the extra gears to make the 350 lope but do...
