I was referred to RockAuto by another mechanic but then they told me that they don’t work on cars that old. I’ll give them a call!

I worked on my bj... they are designed so that a money with a wrench can fix em. I will prob give this a try.

Anyone in the Vancouver area know anything about these? Or know a good mechanic that will diagnose a vehicle this old? Also sourcing parts would be awesome!

ok I need to see about sourcing out some parts. The brake lines are in almost new condition, but there are no brakes. So I’m guessing there is a leak in the master cylinder. I Am supposed to get a diagnosis on Saturday. I’m pretty sure that this mechanic I’m supposed to be having it hauled to...

The response alone when you fire up that diesel in the US is priceless. That combined with the reaction I already get being a girl climbing into one of these... haha!!! So much fun!

Lol... thanks debbie! Good thing I didn’t run out and buy that thing yesterday! Even tho I can get it for about 4K. I have to admit tho. It’s not just the savings on fuel. I LOVE the sound of a Diesel engine. Prob more than the savings on fuel.

Haha I know!! I have already thought of this. I think I’m going to sell this one tho. I really really want another Bj. I could go for days and days on 1 tank. I was close to 30mpg on that thing. I love this one plus I got a SCREAMING deal so I couldn’t pass up the chance to make some money...

No need, I was mistaken... it is 1f... not 2f. Looked at wrong images for comparison.

Also... I have another question... before I actually went to look at this today, I came across a 3b engine. What would someone say was a good price for a 3b +transmission and a transfer case? I’d considered putting a 3b in an Fj just for the break on gas prices alone. But this engine looks and...

Ok so on the bigger and better things! The red BJ moved on to another family. The green one was gone before that. I was suffering from empty nest syndrome when I came across one out in Quebec ... a BJ, another ‘81. I was literally getting ready to walk out the door to put a deposit on it when...
