My BJ46 with factory floor mats and grommets, A/C on in 100 plus sun and she is more than comfy :) I just turn the vents to point to the driver . Any of the after market A/C head units probably do a better job that factory so throw in some dynamat etc and it would be even better
No the 40 series UJ spline is much larger spline on the UJ than the 80 series . That means that the spline on the end of the 80 series PTO Shaft will be smaller than the stock 40 series PTO shaft.
If you take the 80 series shaft it will fit inside the 40 series UJ so you would need to either...
Its funny you say that 10 years ago I bought an FJ40 in Reno and flew up there to get it, paid the guy and jumped in it and drove it back to San Diego. Was on a time schedule and had my head phones on to stay entertained and was pulled over by Highway Patrol and told it was illegal ... I asked...
Like others have said I think driving a 40 is more about aligning expectations as much as it is about capability. For those doing Interstate at 70 mph plus have you ever tried to stop your 40 at those speeds as stopping and swerving etc is not really a strong point for a 40 either so I prefer to...
Hi, I lock up all 4 at once never had an issue stopping. I would not bother putting one on and see little value in a SWB / MWB 40 as they simply don't move enough to impact it even with a load.
If you have real issues I would look at your M/C first and then if need be wack a 2PSI static...
Funnily enough that is 100% the factory location so it is in the Right Position as you call it . You can move it rear ward to make it look more correct but then it would be wrong not right :)
I think the most impressive part about that is you have managed to find $55k on parts in the last 12 mths for an FJ 40 :) and you are actually posting realistic figures about what it costs to resto any sort of car with shops at $100 - $150 an hour it add's up quick.
I do not have one on either of my BJ46's , I have them on my other Cruisers just not on the BJ46. If you look at the factory lines you will see they go from rear diff housing to chassis is into hard line up to front. If it had one then it would need to be in that location and have a lever to...
If you want to put 60's in the front you have to move the hangers as they are to long.
I have an OME 2" Lift in mine and it works fine.
@cruiseroutfit can you supply you with the right parts as a lot of shops will get the MWB stuff wrong.
Not a real good picture but that is with 33 x 10.5 on...
