measured it out and realized that the post needed to be cut in half which works out to be six inches since the post is about a foot long. I'm heading to work right now but thought I'd post up the solution, it worked out good I'll be done with it tomorrow.

What do I think? I definitely dig your lift but as far as the winch goes, why not drop it into the frame rail to line up with the bumper. I don't know if you would like the added work to make a bracket and cutting a hole in your bumper but it's another option. I'm looking into doing this myself...

Just to share my plans I'm going to do the fj60 conversion up front and just keep the drums in the rear tight on my 72 forty and probably weld the rear spiders together.
