I’m giving away a pair of 1993 non-ABS 80 birfields. They were clicking on my truck so I replaced them. Rebuild ‘em and use them as Trail spares. Sold the 80 and these got left behind.
You pay shipping and I’ll drop them in the mail before trash day.
Hey @Comet
My route was Wilmington, NC to LA. I did the drive in 5 days total over two weekends due to work restraints. I have done the drive a few times, so I cannonballed to Oklahoma City via I-40. That side of the country is a bit boring so I wanted to maximize our time in the west. From...
Slow and steady in the 62. I may have crested 80 mph in Arkansas though.
I’ve never driven a momentum truck until this thing. Floor it on the downhill to get a run at any sort of grade and keep it pinned to the top. I can’t imagine what bumpers and a rooftop tent would do to this poor thing.
Does anyone have a set of crossbars that would work on the FJ60/62 roof rails? Don’t need a crazy capacity (just enough for a roof box and a few surfboards). Would love a lead on anything local if you’ve got it.
I grabbed a bunch of photos from today so I’ll drop them in a few posts. Happy to send the originals to everyone via email if you’d like. PM me your email and rig if so.

Did you see these on CL? I'm not sure what they usually go for or what you're looking to spend but I found these during my regular trolling.
I spoke to the owner, Sean, and he was a super nice guy. I almost thought about upgrading to a 100 series and this is the exact twin to my brothers truck. Sean is a mechanic (unsure if dealer tech or indy). Here's what he said;
- Typical LX470 original owner, hit every service on the head at...
The "shop" is at his house with a steel building out back. It was a really cool setup actually considering the space restriction. The only thing I would add is a two post lift.
Stopped in to see Kurt and Bryce at Cruiser Outfitters today while we are out in Salt Lake this week. The temps have been between 50-70 degrees so skiing after around 2pm is like being in mashed potatoes. I broke two free wheel hub assembly bolts by over-torquing them so I got 12 new ones...
I'm embarrassed to say that I inquired about a Jeep yesterday for a daily driver in Washington DC. 1997 Jeep Cherokee 4wd, locking rear diff, OME lift, K02's, roof rack, steel bumpers, 130k miles, original owner selling for.....wait for it......$2500. It was posted on craigslist for 4 hours when...
My brother came across them when he was searching for his 100 and he got the impression (and apparently this is confirmed by others) that they purchase northern trucks and ship them down south with the intention of selling them as "rust-free southern rigs". Now we never saw them in person...
