IMO, it is the most unique of the LC family. (i know there's others that are way more rare.)
And therefore should be the most sought after -
I mean, most people know what a 40, 60/2, or 80 looks like, whether they drive toyotas or not, but when people see a 55 they say
"what the heck...
Thats an easy one to get past if you have a Fridge magnet.
If the body is really as clean as it looks, and it just needs a new engine,
I'd pay 3-4 K for it. and swap in a 2F from a 60. but I don't have the $ or any more time for another project right now.
1975 FJ55 Toyota Landcruiser
from the Craigslist ad -
"Not running. I am looking to sell to a gear head that can fix her and take care of her.
If you are interested, I will give you all the details."
That is a clean Piggy!
Yeah,
I guess they're still out there just have to work to get a decent one, Thanks you guys. Some day i hope to be among those that covet the Swine!
I don't care if its daily driveable, just towable. and not transparent due to rust.
Im in the Middle of Building a 60, so I can't get one right now anyway, but it seems like there are fewer and fewer every day.
I looked on Denver Craigslist and ebay today, there is not a single Pig for sale...
I am running a e85 kit in my Tacoma - have been for about a year now. It's running about $2.19 /gallon in Denver.
I have a link in my Sig about it.
The biggest hurdle you will have is the Carburetor, at least the system i have installed works only with fuel injected engines.
It does...
My folks live down there, and I was driving back to Denver and saw a FJ55 on someone's property, right off the road on the south side on HWY 160 about 6-10 miles east of Bayfield, (on the way to Pagosa Sprngs).
It was on the side of the house not moved in a while and looked pretty darn...
I dont know the year, but it has no engine, no useable body panels, no hood, The interior is shot.
Maybe some floor boards, a door handle, the Instrument panel was there, maybe the back seat is salvageable. maybe the headlight housings. No idea how the frame is but if its like the...
UPON Further Investigation It is total loss, :frown:
I went back there last weekend and looked at it again.
It seems pretty hard to find 55's. Are they that rare?
Thats the name of the place,
Its North of Coors field in Denver. 31st and Walnut. They mostly have 4 runners and Trucks, but they have about 5 60/62's and at least one Pig. I didn't look to see if they have any 80's
Hey I saw a 55 a few weeks back!
They have one at The YOTA Yard in Denver. I saw it there while getting parts for my 60. It was pretty rusty, but there's some stuff still good.
