Thanks for the replies! I'm still trying to decide which C Class to get. I think we might get the new Jayco Seneca with bunks and a washer and dryer hook up.
I've got an '07 automatic tranny, and am looking at what it takes to flat tow it behind a C class. Looks like it can be done, and all I should have to do it disconnect the rear-drive shaft while leaving the tranny in park, and the transfer case in "H".
However, it looks like I still need a lot...
Yes. That helps a lot. It's quite the procedure, compaired to having a simple dip-stick. Can't wait to do the drain and fill this weekend in my newly acquired '07.
Yeah, you're better off not doing it. I personally wouldn't do it with any AWD/Full-time-4x4. You might get away with it but it'll put ware on the drive-train, and possibly break something if you don't do it just right. Personally I'd put the front wheels on a dolly and disconnect the rear...
That's exactly why I'm trying to sell my FJC right now and get into a mid to late 90's 80-series. I love the FJC, it's awesome both on and off-road, but it keeps getting less and less piratical for my family's needs.
From what I've heard, ATRAC can easily be added by installing the switch separately IF you already have the locking Diff and ABS/Traction Control.
If you plan to upgrade the suspension using aftermarket, then the off-road package probably isn't worth it (and it requires the convince package to...
The first place I drove my FJC was all the way home from Albuquerque to Dallas. It took about 13 hours, and my but hurt afterwords. But then my but always hurts so it could just be me. Otherwise they seem about as good as any other car seat I've sat on.
I think you are all talking about the Auto.... What about the Manual? Isn't that a whole other story?
The manual I thought was supposed to be flushed every 30K for heavy use (like off-roading) or at least that's what I got from reading the service records booklet.
I would say, you might get away with it, but you're going to put some stress on the drive train. You'd be better off with a car dolly for the front, and a disconnected rear shaft, but then you're still putting ware on the rear drive shaft and tires.
Now, if you have an automatic, or 2 wheel...
Looks like most people have a lot of options and and Auto. Not what I expected with all the talk I keep hearing around here about buying more basic models and modifying them. I always though people wanted manuals for 4x4's, but I guess the thinking has changed quite a bit in that area.
Do you want Full Time 4x4 or part time 4x4? That's the biggest difference (other then gearing which can be changed easily). If you want the full time 4x4, and the TRD package, I'm sell mine. I love the thing, but I've to twins on the way here soon.
GM just release their last quarter financial statements. They lost 18 Billion in just a few months because sales are down. They are trying to sell the Hummer Brand, and I've heard they may try to sell Saturn and some other of their brands.
Just curious to see what everyone's got. Feel free to post a reply with your specific options.
Persionally I have the TRD SE 6MT, so it has almost everything, plus It came with the VIP alarm, TRD air filter, and I bought the factory sub off someone.
I've since added a few things, but that's...
You must be one of those Road Warriors. The JF's not exactly the best vehicle for such heavy road use... It needs to be off-road...
I'm not even at 23k yet.
