Here's one newer picture I will add a couple of more when I can take them without getting all muddy and such :grinpimp:
Oh.... The reason for reviving this thread is someone asked me what mods I have made and if I've made my version 2.0 yet. Well the great news for me is that my wife and I...
I wheel the heck out of mine and have been pleasantly surprised. When I took it to Rubithon with a buddy driving his 80 we were both impressed. We chose to take the one day straight thru run and by the springs I think all of the neigh Sayers that were on that run with us were dually impressed...
Like I said and Corey agreed it's pretty lacking on factory options. It does have a couple of the mall cruiser additions but if you plan to use it you will be replacing all of them and the ones that matter are missing. Little things like the off-road package, convenience package... I've never...
As for a driver I think the FJC is going to be much more "streetable". For long trips and day to day driving it handles much more like a car with the IFS. The suicide doors really haven't been an issue for us since our children are still under five. Once we have to open one of the front doors...
I think he's referring to the long short very upright windshield. It is very difficult to see traffic lights if you are in a position that allows you to see the road. Also it is a rock magnet and is one of the major contributing factors to the poor fuel mileage...
I have no idea, I was just assuming that packetstormin had done it before. If they are a unit bearing then it should be easier to change out. Definately something to find out though before you start tearing it apart. Probably if you go to a parts house, or dealer, they will have a list of...
As he said it really is pretty easy it just takes the right tools and a bit of information. If you are even a little handy it shouldn't be a problem. $.02
Wow it sounds like they have fixed all of the problems that my bumper has caused. The reinforcement brackets would have been great to know about sooner, as well as the hood latch bracket that has broken my hood latch multiple times... Well at least they have improved their design...
Thank you, a friend of mine just got the National Luna for his 80. I'm looking forward to watching/helping with the install. That looks like the way to go, but it's so expensive and I can't figure out why if it's only a high speed low drag diode and a switch...
I was thinking if it came to reast at the frame, resting on the weld joint, that woudl provide ample protection. Now that you mention it running along the frame is another option. The only concern I would have here is if the leading edge could then get "snagged" up on obstacles...
Thank you guy's for your input. BC_FJC it sounds like the automatic power off switch may solve my issue without needing to install a second battery. At this point the only thing I want to run is my 2 Meter and it should run on very little power for quite some time without draining my battery...
Thank you Corey that kit looks like what I've been seeing out there but the $170.00 is much more reasonable. That does lead me to think that the mark up really is just because they can... Now if you have accessories wired to your spare battery and they are on will it drain your main battery?
