Ah...that explains why no updates recently. I have been following your 3RZ swap thread. I've been so wishy washy about the swap. Wrapping my head around swapping in a 4 banger for another 4 banger (even though night and day difference) has been difficult.
My main reasoning for going with the H42L was (other than the very low price) being able to set things up for an H55 swap down the road, so I'm definitely looking for a case with the 5th gear oiler provision.
The transfer case that was originally behind the H42 is now behind an H55. The owner had a Land Cruiser shop swap in an H55 in her FJ60. She didn't care what the shop did with the H42 so I bought it for $200. The internals looked new. I want to have a manual t case vs a vacuum operated case.
My transmission does have the spacer, so it is the H42L. I decided on this so I could have everything set up for an H55 swap in the future. Since I am planning a rear disc brake conversion, I would prefer the park brake on the case, which was the stock setup on the 3 speed case. I was gonna...
