Mine are still brand new condition, except for the fact that I opened them up to drop in Mini H1's. So I'd say they're in better than new condition... If you keep them sealed properly, you won't have condensation. No fading to speak of yet either.
No idea, but I'm not too stoked about it. I need to open them up and clean them now... I was doing some pretty mild trail running and there were some big puddles, that that was never an issue with my stock fogs. I think the Depo's may not be sealed as well. Seems unlikely that it came in through...
I certainly think so... my old headlights were super faded inside on the reflector and I didn't have any defined cutoff. When I pull up behind someone I've got a nice clear cutoff line on their trunk. Not as good as a projector, but it will do until I hack these open to put in a projector...
I took a different approach to get a darker look... on accident. I decided to put some clear film over the lenses when I got mine to protect from rocks and whatever a bit better than without it, and hoping that it would fade before the actual lens in the sun. Turns out I accidentally ordered a...
Not obtuse at all. Headlights are for H7 halogen bulbs, so although the bulb socket type changes they are still halogen. Now, you could of course run LED bulbs, or even HID if you wanted to. I'll be trying some LEDs at some point, but wanted to try these out 'stock' first. The new housings (lens...
Ya I can definitely do that, just don't have such a wall at my house. I'll be at my dad's tonight and I'll try to pull up to the garage. Like I said I've done very little aiming thus far, so I'd also appreciate adjustment suggestions when I post a good pic of the beam pattern.
Thanks man, I've got a night time road trip tonight so I'll be able to take some notes and make any final aiming adjustments, though it seems pretty good so far. I'm so stoked to be able to see better! Also I should not that the pictures were taken with the bulbs that came from Depo. I've got...
(Also posted in the "what have you done" thread)
I'm finally finding the time to post this, but the work went down last Saturday. My initial intention was to simply put in the new Depo lights, but once I had things apart it seemed to be time for fresh paint on the grill and that turned in to...
I already installed my fog lights, but have yet to wire up the LEDs. The instructions say to tie them to the running light, but I think I'd prefer mine to the turn signal so I think I'll go that route when I get to it. The halogen pattern is not noticeably different from stock, so I'm really...
Ok now this is making much more sense, and in the "What Have You Done..." thread @RS6tofj80 confirmed to me that the weird socket is for the marker light. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/what-have-you-done-to-your-100-series-this-week.609679/page-248#post-9788370
I sure hope I don't have funky...
No worries, again, thanks for all your hard work. I didn't mean to sound like I'm bitching about it, and more than likely I'll enjoy them to the fullest extent until it's time to open them up for projectors. The green tint looks interesting too.
Well I just saw my tracking and it looks like they'll be here tomorrow. The bad news is that I'm instantly sad now that I see the black ones. Those are the ones I really wanted.... Seems like a shame to crack these open to paint now that I know the black actually exists... grrrrr lol I wish I...
SO stoked. I should have time next Saturday (week from tomorrow) to get some work and wiring done. I sure hope the package shows up in time! In the picture of the light you posted above it looks like there's an extra hole below the middle bulb... is that just lighting tricking me or is there...
Definitely a huge thank you for taking this whole thing on. Also nice to hear you'll be doing it again and the tail lamps are still a possibility. I'll be watching for that thread when the time comes.
Oh interesting. Ian hit me up and said he couldn't source the tails but got the fogs instead. He offered me a refund, or the difference for the fogs, and I opted for the latter.
