If the car doesn't ride like crap, and everything else checks out then buy it, change the AHC fluid, then adjust the torsion bars to maximize the longevity of the system. Should last a long time if cared for...
How many miles?
These systems are pretty robust as long as no one put the wrong fluid in there. I would err on the side of assuming it's fine.
My 2000 LX has 232k on the clock and the system still works great.
Start by replacing the AHC fluid before going and buying globes or anything.
