Do you mean M/S 2's in 275/65R18 vs. 275/70R18? According to Tire Rack they don't make a 275/60R18.
Either way, you are talking about roughly a 1" increase in diameter. That will slightly affect MPG, and your speedo will read slightly lower that actual speed.
I bet you have hardly any front droop right now, those t-bars are really cranked! This will impact the ride quality as well, however you biggest issue is the aftermarket bars/springs with no additional weight. It's going to plain suck until you load her down.
Check the tire pressure, tire...
LOL
Trunk must be getting some kind of sick jollys from letting this thread continue. This horse is WAY past the dead, buried, and now returned as the walking dead to haunt us all.
Oh I'm fully aware. With the next set of tires I'm going to switch back to my stock 18's and go with a 35" tire (35x11.50).
The price makes you swallow hard, $360-400 per tire.
The main reason I switched the 18" wheels on my 2004 LC for 16" wheels was the lack of 18" tire options. The tire companies just don't have the same options in 18" as they do in 16". It's basically either under 33" or straight to 35" with nothing in the middle.
If you absolutely want to stay...
I'm at the 50k mark, and they are beat (chunks missing) but have plenty of life left in them. And my 50k is not nice, at least 5k of that has been off pavement.
I will drop one piece of info. I partially validate products by observing what industrial leaders use on their own vehicles.
In this case, check out the 100 Land Cruiser gallery on Slee Off Road's website. You will notice a theme that most of the vehicles, including Slee's personal 100 I...
Does not mean they can be directly compared, or assumed similar in any fashion. Pro-Comp tires are made by Cooper, but you can't compare them to any Cooper Tires.
Snow and Ice are two completely different animals. A tire could be excellent in snow, and very poor in ice in my opinion.
I hear a lot of people post the GY Duratrac are excellent in snow, but I have not read any comments about ice.
44psi offroad is crazy high and only going to equal an uncomfortable and increase risk of puncture.
With BFG AT's I never run over 30psi off road and air down to 14-16psi when tackling 4x4 trails.
"some" post in LR. That first one is heavily post edited.
Back on topic, I'm really curious about Duratracs as my BFG AT's are toast. However I'm leary due to the sidewall weakness I hear about. I think it's just too new to know for sure, more people need to run them and put them to the...
Wow, that's awesome, glad to hear it! I will be posting lot of fire lookout pics next summer as it will be one of my main goals to visit as many as possible. You really do you get see natural vistas that nobody else would see normally.
A lot of good info in this thread. The main thing I took away was the rule of thumb of pressure change cold vs. running. In other words, measure the tire pressure when the tire is cold (i.e. first thing in the morning). Then go drive around for at least a half an hour to warm up the tires...
285/75/16 is a very common tire size on the 100 LC. There are probably hundreds here with them.
Now if you wanted a little more size (and slightly different than the rest), you should have gone 295/75/16... ;p
On the street I usually keep my BFG's around 35-37 PSI all the way around.
