How to free hand a wheel arch This one will be picture intensive, however, I think it shows how to easily form a wheel arch without using purchased panels, which probably won't fit anyway. A bit of sheet metal, and some welding is all you need. Some old beer case cardboard helps too for...

Meh… not if it’s too thick. I may grind this off and use the fiberglass reinforced stuff for the first coat when I do the real body work. Just wanted to see what progress looked like. I also put a ton of 3M seam sealer on the exposed welds in the inside.

Small update today. Turns out summer in MN is busy… not much time To work on the things I want to as of late. Was able to do some work on the driver side rear wheel well and lower rear quarter panel. Trying to keep the stock looks to even re created the stiffener in there. Both rear...

My second favorite thing to unnecessarily spend money on besides my land cruisers is chainsaws…. Each one has a purpose. I used to be a wild land fire fighter back in the day and do some tree work on the side.

Short update today Disassembled the whole rear floor, cleaned up and treated all the rust around the seat and seatbelt mounts. Inside of the frames were painted. Floor is back In. Still need to re weld and grind a ton of spot welds. But at least the body has some rigidity again.

Rear cross member - tail gate holder onner?? Alright, another tale in the restoration of the most rusty 60 ever, we left off with the rear cross member where the driver side body mount was completely gone, while the drinker side looked pretty good. After much spot weld drilling and cutting, I...

Sarcasm… me…. Never…. We will see how it works. Compared to the wheel arch, rocker, quarter panel rust 3-d puzzle with no actual parts. I actually don’t think it will be that bad to fix, but we will see. I’ll document as I go. To be clear, this project is a terrible idea. Save your time...

Just for kicks… here is how bad the driver side rear body mount looks. Should be semi easy to re create this. I’m really getting sick of drilling out spot welds

Not a huge update today. Not as many hours as what I’ve been able to do recently. I also took a break to work on the 80 a bit and put a new bumper and winch on. The rear body mount on the drivers side is completely shot. Decided the easy way to get to it is to pull the rear floor. Instead of...

The rust is bad…. really really bad…. Well, my home remodel project is done for a few weeks, I still have a kitchen backsplash to do, but it can wait. Metal work is more fun than housework. I did do some work on the frame, but that can wait until another update. For now, I was sick of only...

Need a favor, Can someone with actual sheet metal here (front of rear wheel well arch) post or send a few photos so I can reference it when I re construct it? The other side is not much better. Even better would be with a few measurements. What would be even more amazing is if someone has...

Yeah… we may just be racing… although with all my rust issues. And a house I still have to remodel. I’m sure you will win. Either way. Super cool to see another body off LS swap going here. Here is where I finished off today. Made a stand for the body that the frame can roll under to save...

That’s super nice! I have some interestingness with my next post, I will be cutting out 3/4 of the inner c-channel and welding in new metal to make it all work. Also using a pressure washer sand blaster to clean up the frame.

Just lifted it super high, had a buddy lift the back. Then pushed the picker all the way over to the other side of the garage. Then I wheeled the frame out and put the body on jack stands. At least for now.

I built a 6.0 for this truck 2 winters back It’s actually. 6.1 now with a sloppy stage 2 cam, went way overboard on the build. Forged pistons and rods, the works. Imagine that right? Also have a nv4500 for the transmission
