Not sure what your location is, since I'm reading this on my phone, but 87crusr has an oem one for sale in the classifieds. Might want to check it out. You also might want to check craigslist locally. There's always a few people getting rid of fj60 tires and wheels for cheap.
Ok, so I swapped out the steering box and steering pump yesterday. Filled it with Castrol ATF and started her up to warm up. There's no play or leaks and everything seems to be fine. However, the steering is pretty stiff. Doesn't feel like it has power steering at all. What did I do wrong?
I'm on the same boat. I bought a passenger side bottom to swap out with my driver side cover. The only issue will be the holes for the adjusters but oh well.
So, I've been having issues with my steering for a while and finally have the time to tear my 60 apart and swap out the steering gear box and pump. I got a couple of good replacements from Georg a while back. Since I'm taking this stuff apart, is there anything else you guys think I should...
Buy oem, you'll regret buying the aftermarket lenses. I bought a pair from Spector for miy 60 about a year ago and they've faded pretty badly. Going to buy oem in the next few weeks.
