Wow, I'd honestly ditch your rig to the cancer. Do you really know how bad it is underneith? How are the body mounts?
I'd just pick up a clean rig out of CA or AZ and bring it up. Swap in your 3B. That's my plans.... A frame swap and body work like that is going to be a lot of work!
I have my tire up on my roof rack and I HATE IT UP THERE! Talk about heavy to get up there.....A rear swing out would be my first choice, the second choice would be a rear swing out the other side and my third choice would be a rear swing out as well.....
Just so you guys know, all BJ60's in Canada came with a roof mounted roof rack, 4 mount locations, all bolted to the roof. I've had a 69 for 10 years now with no issues of leaking in those locations (mind you I've siliconed the bolt holes closed).
Also, I've had my home made rack mounted to my...
Nice! Turbo that thing already. You'll really want it turbo'd for the hills between BC and Alta...
Check out my sig line, you'll see my turbo job. With your fab skills, you can easily make your own manifold and source a decent turbo for $2-300 and rebuild it. You'll be glad you did ;)...
Since I've been looking for a clean 60 out of California for some time now, I'd say you're in the 7-8K range. I just saw an amazingly clean 60 on ebay go for $5100, no lift but mech sound.
All the extras usually net you 60% of actual cost for them, so the bumpers and lift don't fully pay out...
So. What's your question again....
With all that you've listed it sounds like you've talked yourself into it. Sure sounds like a good deal if all that has actually been done.
You sound very excited about this truck. If you're happy with it and it's in your budget what's to question???
Thanks for the tips (full pun intended :D )
in my defence, I did open the springs up quite a bit and got the grease about 2/3 the way down the pack. That and my buddy gerg and I took a few chat breaks and one break to take the hood off his 60 :D
Right on about the swap. Looking forward...
Hary, my OME are the heavy/heavy. They have 8 in the rear and 6 in the front. All depends on the thickness too of the lower leafs for the load bearing...
No, my buddy Gerg had an actual needle tip that worked really well. I jacked the truck up till I had full droop, then I used a flat head screw driver to open up the springs just a bit more and used the needle tip inbetween each leaf. Took me about 1-1/2 hours to do all four springs.
I'd like to put a bit of grease in between my OME leaf springs. I know the little yellow poly wear washers between the leafs have a hole in them to allow for greasing.
So, what tip is used on my grease gun and what grease should I use for this?
Tried a search but didn't find anyting.....
I'd suggest you get a different 60 cruiser that suits your needs. I think I know the truck your looking at and I think you can get a decent DD for the same money or better...
