Thanks Mace. The price is intended to be a starting negotiation point. I am definitely willing to come down, within reason. I have seen 60s that are in not nearly as good a shape as mine go for more than the 17k asking (think 20-25, and this does not include TLC) here in LA. I do think that the...
Hey all,
Unfortunately I need to part with my 60. Lots going on in life and I need to free up some cash. Take a look at the sale thread and let me know if you guys think Im out of line.
Thanks!

Anyone (especially those in Cali with smog trucks) have have links to write ups on how you are actually plumbing these things? If so, post up some threads!
Just to close this loop, Richard did an amazing job getting my cruiser back in order. In short, some dirt in the carb was the main issue.
This rig runs amazing now and I think that my mileage has also improved quite a bit. Running a full tank and will report back if my mileage is better than...
Picking up my 60 from K&H this afternoon. New fuel pump, carb opened up and cleaned out (apparently it was full o crap), fuel lines blown out, new filter as well, exhaust leak (manifold) fixed and valves readjusted. Richard says it's running like a dream!! Can't wait to take it for a spin!
Loaded it up on the truck this morning and sent it off to K&H. Hoping to hear back with some results in the next couple days.
On another note, is it just me or does a 60 even look cool on a flatbed??
Oh, and AAA took 2 freakin hours this morning!!
Well, I had a spare fuel pump and no vacuum gauge handy so I threw it in. Same deal.
I'm going to call Richard at K&H in the morning and see if I can get it down there before I need to be at the office.
Thanks orbittron, that sounds like good advice to me. I'll take a look there. Also sounds similar to John McVicker's diagnosis.
John McVicker, was just up in your area on the way back south from Mammoth. Beautiful county you live in. Also just signed up for the Whitney lottery and am hoping I...

I didn't alter anything in the engine compartment other than the choke cable and now, the temp sender wire. Everything else is as before paint and body. Thats the weird thing, was running great from Agoura to Topanga Canyon Blvd, then it just fell on its face. Something changed, or...
Yup Richard. Yup exhaust leak. And yup, the tap is on the green and goes to ground. It is, however, on the opposite side of the connector from where you did your white wire to ground. Not that that would make a difference, 12v is 12v.
I'm thinking I may just have this thing sent to him on...
Probelem Persists
Ok, I finally got the opportunity to run through my checklist. Unfortunately, nothing has worked yet.
I did find that Spike was right, the temp sender wire had indeed shorted causing the temp gauge issue. I also verified that the carb is getting fuel, and that the sight...
And to Greg's point, I'll pull the cluster back out to verify connections. But all the connections in my cluster have unique connections. But I'll do it to verify that all connections are tight.
Game plan as it stands now:
•*Pull the air cleaner assembly off entirely, and see whats going on underneath. Based on the condition of my choke cable, and how quickly and recently that failed, there may be something under there (rats nest?) that is causing excessive heat. might also be causing...
AHHHH, thanks Spike!
Will verify fuel sight tonight.
I did replace my choke cable, which was on the melted side. I just assumed it was old, but maybe something is happening under the air cleaner that is causing excessive heat. I think I will pull that apart and take a look.
Thanks for the...
Huh, wondering what the acronym is then.
No electrical done recently, unless you count pulling out an old hacked in trailer wiring harness. The other thing I've done recently would be to reinstall the dash safety cap and instrument cluster. But no modifications were made to any wiring harness...
Anything ever come of this? My 60 is exhibiting similar issues all of a sudden. Not sure where to start!
