I’ve got an interesting scenario and could use some input. I’ve had my FJ62 daily driver for 10+ years and the previous owner installed FJ40 wheels. I’ve been running BFG all terrain 31x10.5x15 tired. He gave me the OEM chrome FJ62 wheels if I ever wanted to switch back. They aren’t perfect but...
This post is not trying to sell anything without posting a price but is soliciting input on whether or not to sell a few items. Every time I put up Christmas decorations I question these items I’ve got stored. I’ve been keeping the items below in case I get the time/$$ for a full restoration for...
Drove home last night and pushed the front passenger power window switch and it just fell to the floorboard. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to look for new assembly? Thanks and happy holidays!
Kevin
Thanks everyone. TLC to answer your question running completely stock setup for 1990 FJ 62. At this point I filled with 50/50 mixture of green coolant + distiller water. I will continue to monitor and see if the rust returns. I'm not trying to be paranoid just want to make sure this truck last...
First of all thanks for all the advice so far from everyone on this forum. So here is the scenario. I purchased my FJ62 two and a half years ago from a fellow MUD member. The cruiser was in awesome condition and I've had absolutely no issues except for coolant. After I owned the cruiser for...
I decided to tackle the removal of pin striping and old dealer added trim this past weekend. I had never used a smart eraser but overall was pretty easy to use with the cordless drill. I went through a couple of batteries for the cordless drill removing all of the adhesive. The eraser...
Ended up drilling holes to mount the switches. The switch that came with the kit had a bunch of epoxy/heat shrink on the back of the switch to make sure nothing came loose. Decided I didn't want to mess with cutting all the wires and figuring out how to wire a new switch.
I figure a picture is better than my earlier explanation. You can see in the pic I have two round hi/low heated seat switches that right now are just sitting where the coin holders used to be located. If I could find a brown blank then I could drill it out and keep the two heater switches...
I like the stock switch idea but the heated seats have a hi/low setting. Are there any stock switches that would accommodate an off/hi/low position?
Kevin
I just installed heated seats and I'm looking to install the switches. I would like to remove the coin holder and then install the switch in place. The switch is round so it would be perfect if I could find a blank to then drill out and install the switch. Anyone have any ideas or sources? I...
Ljoem not sure what crutchfield is telling you but my double DIN Pioneer radio bolted right in to the FJ62. There was definitely some work to disassemble the dash and rewire the radio harness but not that bad. I installed a backup camera and that was a royal pain to run the wires through the cab...
New ARB sides steps are now installed. Added some skateboard grip tape since I've heard the steps can get really slick when they get wet. Good news is my wife says it is now easier for her to get in the truck.
