Enough said right there! I have been following his van build and he does amazing work. I don't have a 60 but would still like to see how this turns out.
This is going to be a good build! I agree I would not molest the 40. I have wanted a 40 for a while but just found out kid #3 is on the way. I might try to get back into a 60 which would fit the bill a little better for the near future.
What tranny are you going to use?

I hope I didn't scare you and maybe someone can answer it here so I can put some solid facts on the table.
Does the Smog Police in CA have an issue with a swap like this?
That's great news. I live right off the 125 in La Mesa/San Carlos, I'd love to come by and check out your 62 sometime. Deployment is looming large for me too later this year. Welcome back... almost!

I hope your not in a county that does smog checks because I don't think the diesels will be a legal swap. I would like to be wrong because I would like to see it done!
This is true, but it actually happened in San Diego. The tread peeled right off on the freeway.
I did wear the tires down on my wife's car until the steel belt popped out, I think it was time to get new tires at that point :hhmm:
The way I learned it is if the tire is older than 6-7 years dump it. It doesn't matter how much tread it has on it. It could have sat on the shelf its whole life and appear brand new. Rubber degrades over time and therefore I am not going to risk my life on 6-7 year old tires.
