    3F Carb Draining issue

Nah sorry. Some video's above of some issues. Now I've got a nice clean Carbi and its working well. I did see the diaphram and it had about a 1/2 inch tea in it, so no chance of holding suction.

    3F Carb Draining issue

Hopefully the final update on this. I spoke to a proper Carb guy. He describes the issue as Syphoning. Just like a Syphon, when you start a flow it keeps on going, and apparently thats what happens. its a bit of a fluke to get the right conditions for it to happen. the result is Fuel just...

Finally bit the bullet and got the 3F Carb refurbed. Cost a bit, but was too much of a job to try myself, seeing I'm trying to find some issues. So the outcome is great. he found that the secondary diaphram was ripped, this meant my secondary was never even engaging. Also found that the carb...

Just an update on things. Not a lot going on. Rain is the enemy of 60's. unless you have brand-new well fitting window felts, you are going to get water coming into the door via the glass/rubber/felts. Thats why you have drains on the bottom of the doors. Next water issue is in the...

    3F Carb Draining issue

Update on this. I think opening the hand throttle helps (when I stop car, after a hot run, I open hand-throttle, to remove pressure come from engine into the carb, which could be sucking fuel out of the carb-bowl). Its not fully difficult to start when it happens. Just to update, this is not...

    rear brakes over adjusting.....

I had quite a few problems when doing the rear brakes. Somethings that might be worth checking. 1. I got new drums, but they were actually smaller then the originals. The result was the adjuster, when adjusted was only 1-2 threads near its shortest travel. This caused locking up. Put old...

Is AC idle up valve meant to vent open?

I'll test it the other way round! I might have it wrong. Ta guys

Is AC idle up valve meant to vent open?

Yea sure. Its a Aus Spec 1989, FJ62 with 3F. This is the old Valve. Its not functions, cause when I power it I does nothing. The High-Value is connected to the exhaust power (bit that stick out at the end, normally covered in a black cap). The small valve is 'blocked' when un-powered. I...

OK, quick bit of work on Wipers. Installed two Relays direct to Battery rail (one on HI speed, one on LO speed), as I was only getting 11V via the loom. It has two wires (Hi, Low) as well as a constant 12V (I think) and a 'Off' 12V which triggers the 'park response (goes active when switch is...

Becuase I'm driving it a lot, finding some small issues. Besides the Carb draining issues. My AC belt was sqeaking. I'm used to this issue now. you need to screw OUT (anti-clock wise) the AC Idle Pulley adjust nut from underneath. Get 14mm socket and every extention you have. Use a 'short'...

Some current pics with Roof Rack on. Rook Rack is an IRONMAN from a high-roof, but they still sell the low-roof backets. I like the slanted front. My Stedi Quads found a home. (I prefer the Baja Designs on the front as I really like to see the Toyota Badge). I wired through the rear air-vent...

Nice one mate! I pretty much did the exact same process on Mine. I made many mistakes along the way though. Check out Builds - Barons white FJ62 log - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/barons-white-fj62-log.1281113/ to avoid them :). Keep updating your thread with Pics and lessons! Everyone...

Is AC idle up valve meant to vent open?

I was testing my AC Idle up, and while it was engaging, it was not consistent or strong enough(FJ62 Manual). I then 'bypassed' the AC Idle up Valve and found plently of suction to engage the suction cap switch. I found I was loosing pressure in the AC idle up valve, and some testing found that...

    3F Carb Draining issue

So not a lot of progress. I decided to 'practice' the idea of opening the hand-throttle each time I stop. This is in the hope to release any pressure coming up from the engine valves. while I've not have a complete drain of the carb, its not starting as easily as it normally does. i.e. take 3...

Did I mention I have a boat. 1975 era Savage Fibreglass, also fully restored after a tree cut it in half. The two make quite a pair, old school. Had to check some wiring and redo some crimps to get all the lights working. Towed it well and the handbrake held on the ramp (I used a chock...

Another 'ahh Ferk' moment. You can see on the rear axle here, a PIN, that helps align it. The HUB has a hole it goes in. With my parts car etc, I had a hub missing with a broken stud, so I ended up cleanin up two Passenger side hubs, thinking they were the same. THEY ARE NOT. Passenger...

Front Brakes all cleaned up. My 'colour pallete' is white/black with red accents. So the Calipers were painted (Raptor Caliper paint first, but it went on dull, so went to a Dupoint' red caliper paint. Also the Aisen Hubs are normally 'bronze', but I wanted them red, so I just sprayed some...

Some pics of the larst few steps. Redo of the Rear Brakes. new Pads, Cylinder, everything removed, cleaned and put back. Close up of this mechanism. Some notes are: 1. Take a video of you adjusting it from behinds so you know exactly where to place the screwdrivers and which way to wind...

    3F Carb Draining issue

Yea I looked at that. Appreciate the ideas. - Possible boiling. I stuck a temp sensor on Carb (dual sensor with alarm, I used for radiator). does not get above 30deg, and you can easily touch it. - Wicking overnight - yes possible, but this is draining in seconds.
