For many people, a Corolla is more valuable than a Boss 302 or Hemi Cuda. It doesn't make the Corolla better.
That's the leap in logic that I'm getting reading this.
Not saying the 100 is a Corolla! The 100 is a fantastic suv. It's so hard to find a clean 80 that if I were buying today, it...
The need for the 105 series was because the 100 was not durable enough in important markets.
Instead of loosing those important customers trading in their old 80 series for a new Land Cruiser- only to find it cannot do the job anymore- Toyota wanted to keep those customers (and reputation)...
The 105 Series was made because of strong demand from Australia and Africa. The 100 alone could not pass durability demands in those markets.
The reason they don't have a 200 Series solid axle truck is probably because it has a much better ifs system and buyers are getting 70 wagons for...
I wonder if Dallas Custom was American Stitches? I almost used them but at the time couldn't source a spare steering wheel. They were very nice though I was tired of chasing this- and then later heard they went out of business.
So I'm looking at your first post and #107, I don't see a...
Are you using Alan Gunn ?? If so, tell that d-bag he owes me money!
Steering wheel leather was crap quality, didn't fit and he had a whole bunch of excuses.
I heard the "hurricane" one, snowstorm is a good one for a business in florida.
Total BS con that stole my money.
That is the funniest thing I've read in a long time!:cheers:
Can you elaborate?
My experience with ATRAC and ARB is that (for example) I lock the rear ARB and the front is free and ATRAC activates when it detects slip.
Since the locked rear is not slipping, it does not affect it...
Toyota's philosophy with the Land Cruiser is, to paraphrase your metaphor;
anything can go 200 meters once.
LC's are made assuming you make that trip daily.:steer:
It will be very difficult to find a clean, locked 80 series. Unless you are willing to hunt hi and low and travel for a good one, this debate is not even worth going into.
100 series are relatively plentiful and affordable for very clean examples locally.
The 100 is not as tough but it's still...
Dan,
It's mondo-man, he's looking on the iphone in bay area. I think he's got it
thanks for posting - are you the only 100 tech person that looks in the engine bay?! ;)
Friend had a stuck tension pulley and is getting a new one delivered to install on the road.
Anyone know how to change it?

For comfort, cargo capacity and use as a wagon- the 100 is a nice step up from the 80.
Using a vee engine allows a shorter hood and moving the firewall forward. In turn, allowing more interior space. A great LC with different focus.
Based on the LS400's UZ block, it's going to have...
I've seen cars with different seats (for example, regular instead of sport seats) and it usually means fire/flood damage.
It sounds like possibly the PO didn't want to pay for a new replacement and found something comparable but this type of thing would make me want to loo under the carpets and...
congrats pesimsmd!
It's an awesome project and with such a fantastic shop. The truck looks fantastic. Amazing how different it looks w/ the SFA.
wonderful build, really jealous!
Again, from the video it's pretty clear there is nothing wrong.
I think you should check to see if the pads are completely worn out and not gripping- that would cause issues.
sonk76,
3 wheels w zero traction. No momentum. Open diff.
It's just not going to work, atrac or not.
EdsCruisin
are you referencing the radiator that bent from smashing thru a water pit? Yeah smashing into water or snow certainly risks destroying the radiator but it's tougher with snow.
There are so many factors to traction off road. Even a couple inches off the ideal line and you can loose grip while seemingly effortless for someone else.
That situation you video'd - I don't think would work unless you have a locker. I can clearly hear your atrac/abs firing so its...
