You can pic up a nice gas 80 for well under 10k, i just bought my fj62 for less than $2000, The price differnece between a gas 80 and diesel 80 is not going to be made up for in the amount of fuel your going to burn , that being said maybe you should pick up a bj60 there is a very very very nice...
what it does is control the edic and shut the fuel system down in the event of low oil presure or when you turn the key off it shuts the fuel off alowing the the truck to be shut off .
i asume you are refering to the relay inside the passenger kick pannel of a bj 60 ? it will make a clicky clicky sound and your truck will shut it self off and or surge , keep in mind that low oil presure or the wire on the oil sender breaking off can have the same effect .
rod do you have a repair manual for the 60 ? , it helps to find the proper wires to tap into find the dash light circuit and tap into that, that way when you dim your lights your gauges will dim also , this is a 12 volt system your batteries are wired in parallel you double the amperage output ...
