Do yourself a favour get that GM 6.5 hunk of crap out of your mind.
People who put the 4B-Ts cummins in them end up selling shortly after, I dont know why?
I have a 88-89 4:11 ratio H55F HJ 61 with 285 - 75 R16 (32.5") with close to 300,000kms
Fuel setting stock
28- 32mpg combined driving 1500- 2500rpm , sure I will load it down and goose it up to 3000rpm every now and then:clap:
BJ 42 getting restored , awesome work as usual !
Gozzard body Nice!

I own a HJ 61 , 12H-T , H55f and cable locked .Everything works except for the rear passenger door lock.
The car gets anywhere from 28-31mpg imp. Its not for sale because of the fuel mileage it gets.
As long as you are not revving it over 4000rpm and not exceeding 1000 F exhaust temp (every second of the day) you are not hurting it . In fact the more load the better, less chances of smooth boring the cylinder walls.
Turboed 3B vs 13B-T (I dont know why I get involved in repetition)
turboed 3B has good grunt better power up to about 1200rpm vs 13B-T due to the higher compression of the 3B
turboed 3B has better compression braking vs 13B-T
I never see anything under 25mpg Imperial with my BJ 74...

Fuel conditioner does protect rubber seals and rubber...

On our HJ 61 , I find that if your foot is in it , The gas pedal stiffens up a bit.
It can get a bit squirmy on the lower rev side of the pedal especially going down a real bumpy road at low revs and shifting .
It is a complex set-up and I also believe that governor fly-weights can...
AFTER watching a 3 ton Mitsu going down the road yesterday with the noisy automatic . I would say that you are in the ballpark.
Rolling 50 to 65 is really slow
Since the motor is not infront of me; Stumbling under low rev high load, no smoke, bad fuel economy and low on power I would say INJECTION TIMING RETARDED
If you were stumbling under high rev hi load and blowing blueish white smoke with the occasional popping noise I would say fuel...
I picked up an HJ 61 a couple of years ago . I bought it sight unseen. The price I agreed on was 10,500.
Cable lockers, 5 speed , non smoked in and some rain gutter rust on passenger side with a hole in the rocker panel.
So it had 223,000 kms , Runs like a top, the clutch was weak...
