As long as I'm in town, count me in on the next parts run to Honduras. I never seem to find jack when I get to a salvage yard so maybe my luck will be better with you guys. As to running dual tanks at border crossings, did the Mexican cops say anything that would lead you to believe that...
Charles,
First, glad to see that you are back safe and hope that you had a good trip. Second, it's funny that this comes up today. After our last conversation on this topic I was under the rig this morning trying to see if I could fit a second 40 tank under the drivers side, (23 + 23...
Don,
not to hijack but when is the next time that you are coming down to Central America to visit your cruiser? If it is going to be anytime soon send me a pm, I am always looking for fellow cruiser heads who are passing through who might be able to ferry parts my way. This time I'm looking...
guys these are nice. Makes me wish that I had a decent vid cam with me this last weekend when my club rolled out. Maybe I can hook something up with the stills in the mean time.:meh: Thanks.
Josh,
Re: the professional level of the shops in Argentina and Brazil( and Colombia too) I agree 100%. This especially so in this case as there may be a need to present real paperwork to the DMV or feds regarding emissions or if they ever do decide to give tax rebates or incentives to folks...
Josh,
As to the set-up itself, from what I have read the way that many of the companies who installed this set-up on their fleet rigs have gone is to port the CNG system in at the injectors. It seems that you flip the switch and the fuel solenoid closes off the diesel and lets in the CNG and...
Interesting. In case you haven't done so already, you may want to check out this thread on this and similar swaps.

OMG,
I can't believe how clean your engine is. Not only do I not have any stickers but it would take me hours to clean down to the bare metal so that I could see any of this stuff. :grinpimp: Maybe it is time to break out the brake cleaner and clean her up, although I'm a little worried...
Spallet,
This isn't a thread hijack but what conversion are you doing, the 14B or the 15B and where did you get the engine? ( possible conceptual hijack over)
John
Matt,
This refers to Snail trail and my collaboration on getting these manuals scanned. I got them not too long ago after what seemed like months in the mail from NZ. There are actually two manuals (1)the 3B, 14B, 15B-F and 15B-FT and (2) the 15B-FTE. I am scanning manual both this weekend...
I've been thinking about the same issue. On my '80 BJ40 I have two options I think:
1- under the tub, under the drivers seat
2- under the tub, just in front of the rear bumper
While alot depends on the size and number of CNG tanks that would need to be installed to get me a range of approx...
Well I put in a call for a price and availability quote on a new 15B-FTE. Let's see what happens. BTW does anyone know if the 14B is still in production?
Here we go again
LMAO...again it is always better when we just put it out there and say what we mean:clap: dude you crack me up thanks for giving me a chuckle.
OMG was this funny! As to the substantive discussion, there are such strong views on this that I sincerely think that the only way either the skeptics or the proponents will ever be convinced of the others position is somebody needs to buy one and then set up an empirical test, open to any and...
Tom,
I don't mean to break your stride here but a quick question, what did you use to clean your bus bar, it looks good enough to eat with.
