My 1HDT has been clicking loudly from the area of the fuel pump when it is cold. When the engine is at normal operating temp, the clicking disappeared. Dana Adams told me his had the same problem and he disabled his Assist(?) Cold Start...
I somehow don't think this has to do with the ACSD. Mine was bad and I just replaced it (see separate thread) but the symptoms were completely different.

The Denso dealer around here charges $50 retail for each injector (Diamond Diesel, Oakland, CA) but they charge more for dual stage units. They did my 2H injectors, but I am sending my 1HDT injectors to be rebuilt in Oz as we speak ;). It is not a matter of cost, but a matter of experience...

Yes, if you keep the 1HZ flywheel and clutch, or use a 300 mm Isuzu clutch and HDT pressure plate.

Hi Desertico, welcome to the board.
I've been hearing rumors of stronger pistons for the 1HZ available in Australia, but I haven't found a definite source. You cannot fit 1HDT pistons to a 1HZ without changing the connecting rods as the wrist pins/gudgeon pins are not the same size. 1HDT...
You've done the basics like checking your air filter and your turbo is working, right? If the injectors haven't been done, it is worth it to have them checked first. Here most injection shops will test them for you for free.

Another reason I think is economics. A good vehicle in Oz is priced accordingly and in Japan even a good vehicle lose its value faster with age. A lot of Aussie stuff we are seeing here are the older, high mileage units, the ones that make economic sense to import.
