I haven't measured the resistance, that is a good thought. I'm just assuming going off the 24v markings and that it came off of 24v rig. It never occurred to me that it would be otherwise.
What is the best way to measure?
I tried search (here on mud and google) but wasn't able to find a complete answer so I thought I'd ask the group.
Does anyone know of a way to step up the power from my 12V system to power a 24V component? It is just the lights and thermometer guage from an HJ61 overhead console that I've got...
Thanks. I am going to try just pulling some units to see what works. I'd like to keep the face of it stock/OEM as it looks pretty dialed in with the rest of the rig (stock land cruiser fits right in, ya know...?)
I'll see what I can pull from another vehicle and take it from there. Readout is...
Cool - that is what I was thinking so I'm psyched the light switch will be pretty easy.
The Temp computer is a whole other issue - you are correct Tencha - If anyone has any tips on that I'd definitely take them. My biggest question is where can I get the temperature sensors themselves to hook...
I tried searching but struck out so I apologize if this question has been asked and answered already. If so - please feel free to just point me to a post if you know it.
I have a 12V US/CAN 60 series wagon. I just installed the overhead console from a 24V JDM HJ61 in my rig. Installation was a...
You know, sometimes it's nice to just lay out a problem out loud in order to solve it...
As I'm sure many of you already know from the above pics - the heater core was plumbed incorrectly.
I switched the return hose to the t-stat tie-in (as Roalco and Turbo45 pointed out initially) and BOOM...
So based on what everyone is telling me here, I think that my heater core is hooked up to high pressure coming and going on both sides. Attached are three pics I took of the setup - if someone could take a look and let me know what they think I'd appreciate it. Again, the rear heater is not...
Yeah, I checked for that. After reviewing a ton of diagrams on it I don't think the 3B has that o ring like the 2F's and 3F's do. The gasket is a triangle gasket for the 3B engine and it bolts in place. At least it is in all the diagrams I've seen so far.
On that, If someone could post up a...
Still stumped on this one.... I replaced the thermostat and gasket. Flushed the heater core until it ran clean like a Rocky Mountain stream... confirmed that I am correct on the heater hose setup for high/low pressure (although I may check that one more time for giggles)... no heat. None.
I'm...
Thanks a ton - I'll check that. I did a heater core flush a few weeks ago but I also swapped in the "new" t-stat referenced above at the same time - so I could have fixed one problem while creating a new one. Once I get the correct thermostat in place I'll be able to get a good test.
John
Thanks a ton - I think I found what I needed locally. I'll check back if not.
Do you have any HJ61's that you're parting out currently? I'm trying to get ahold of an overhead console set (mounting plate plus the housing - inclinometer is nice but not essential).
Thanks a ton
Koby
Anyone have a part number for both the t-stat and the gasket? My local Toyota dealer looks at me like I have two heads when I tell him that I am looking for Diesel parts....
John
Thanks - that's a bingo on what I just got vs what was in there...anyone know where I might find a 3B T-stat in the states?? And what about the gasket? Any ideas on that as well?
Thanks in advance
Koby
I ordered up a thermostat and tstat gasket from Rockauto recently in an effort to resolve a "luke warm" heating issue in my truck. I went install everything and the new t-stat is totally different from the old one (but it fits no problem) and there were no gaskets in there when I opened it up...
Odd question here. My truck is a diesel conversion of an FJ62 with the drivetrain from a BJ60. Obviously, a lot of custom work was done in terms of wiring, mechanical, etc to make this possible. With that, the PO had the radio/clock wired up so that they can remain "on" even with the keys pulled...
