Sorry to hear about your engine...but to be clear, I don't think the naturally aspirated 2L was a hunk of crap. Gutless, yes...but from what I understand, lasts a long time compared to your 2L-T.
Hey John:
I "think" it was around 4 bills for everything, with new internals. I can dig up my bill if you want, or you can cal Nathan for a quote with what you want to do. He seems to be a good guy and is good at what he does.
I had Nathan at ASI Rebuilders in Abbotsford convert my 12HT alternator to 12V and bump up the output. It's nowhere near 200A, but I wonder if he would have been able to do better had I requested for more?
Hi Tony:
In terms of the 3FE valve body working well with the torque curve of the 12HT, I have had no complaints with that. Seems like anyone who's also had the chance to drive my truck has mentioned that the tranny seems to perform well with the diesel engine.
You will need the 12HT bits...
Nice...I had to Google that expressway to find out where it is. My family is mostly from Bacolod...and I can't ever remember a time in my life where we were able to go that fast anywhere in Iloilo or Bacolod...LOL. Guess we're a bit of a hicktown compared to Bagio. :D
Where in the Philippines can you consistently go that fast? Definitely not the metropolitan areas...lol. If I were in your shoes, I'd thoroughly flush the cooling system, change the thermostat, and fill it up with fresh coolant.
How old is the water pump?
Gerg...was a little busy today and didn't get a chance to take a pic. My suspicion is that the prep work to clean my manifold was done hastily...that's why the coating didn't stick.
Hmm...we must have had different guys do work at Kool Koat. My job was bumped back due to a much larger job that came in later. Also, within a few months of being installed, I saw a little bit of rust coming from under the ceramic coat...and not there's not much left of the ceramic coating...
My temp sender is the original sender that came in my 24V engine...I just plugged it into the 12V FJ80 connector and it functions just fine.
When I had the 24V oil pressure sender hooked up to my 12V FJ80 gauge, it read on the low side...when I switched it over to a 12V sender, it was reading...
Hmm...Sheldon's dad measured the resistance of the memory wire for my deck one time and doubled the resistance by adding a resistor so I could hook it up directly to 24V. Worked well for my deck.
Hey Chet:
If you want, you can just buy a generic 12V keyless entry kit from your local parts store. Run the module off of your coverter, and depending on its design, if it just lets the connected doorlock wires see ground when you press the button, you should be able to just connect to it...
I have the lower rad hose heater from Zerostart installed in my 12H-T 80 series. I took my truck up to the Cariboo where temperatures dropped to -22*C for a couple of nights. I also have Rotella T6 5W40 synthetic oil that I'm running.
What I found was that when I plugged in my lower rad...
The cheapie Chinese ones have come up on Ebay from time to time if you want to go that route. Was roughly around $300 new...
I haven't done anything about my turbo yet...it works perfectly fine and I have other things to look into for now. Still on the back of my mind though.
