    1HD-T Voltage Converter Relay Question

Yeah those heavy starters are a bitch to get out and harder to get back in. Couldn't imagine a 12V in there. Need just the right extension and a bit of luck. The FSM has a bench test for the 12/24V starter solenoid IIRC to check if thats the problem. I recall taking one apart once but ended up...

    Dual post battery

There is no "starting battery" or "Engine Battery" . They are both used for starting but are connected in series when key is in the start position - as I'm sure you know. When not starting the two batteries are connected in parallel so pulling a 12V load off one battery or any set of marine...

    Starting My "New" 2L-T

If you use a Wilson switch it will send 12V to the glowplugs for an extended period. If the plugs were designed for 6V after a 12V momentary they could fail prematuraly with 12V. I think I went with 11V plugs when I went to a Wilson(style) switch. That was on a 1HD-T.

PPD Performance 3" SS Bolt-On Exhaust System Install

Yes I found fitment could have been improved. Took a while before I was able to keep it from contacting the frame. Don't remember if I had missing downpipe hardware. But at least the price is right. Now I'm thinking of moving the EGT sensor to the inlet side of the turbo.

    Thoughts on these turbo fins...

"Neutral drop to stall"? Is that a thing? Would drop to first and hit the brakes be the way to stall it?

    OIl Filter Part Numbers

I go by the coolest name or grab the cheapest I can find. Most are made in the same chinese factory anyway and unless you're hunting Ibisis in the Sahara they'll all do the trick if you change it every 5000 miles. Just my worthless (canadian) 2 cents.

Where to get, 1HD-T 3" downpipe and afr ?

I think you can email PPD Exhaust and get a real person. They have AFR gauges for diesels? Running for the popcorn...

PPD Performance 3" SS Bolt-On Exhaust System Install

Yeah do without that OEM collar. I think I only used 1 L bracket too.

A lot of dash lights on. HDJ81

I just pulled the charge fuse under the hood and let 'er be. Only drawback is you have to glance at the gauge once in a while to see if it's charging. I had put in a new alternator so I knew that wasn't the problem. I even changed the glowplug system to a manual one so that was eliminated.

Has anyone on the forum used Chinese made cylinder head?

You really need to check the head over good once you get it. Some things to look for: - depth of dowel holes - trueness of machined surfaces - hose or other anciliary connections - sometimes wrong/missing threads - coolant passages for debris or casting flaws - fitment of manifold studs - lineup...

    1HD-T AC idle up

I think my HDJ-81 automatic with idle up is set a bit high as it almost drives me into the car in front of me when it kicks in at a stop. So about 100 rpm idle up is spec when in drive at a stop or in neutral?

    14V Glow Plugs on a 1HD-T - Wiring Questions

UPDATE: To my surprise the JDM HDJ-81 actually has an 11V fixed delay glow plug system, not the 6V Super glowplug system. However it still needs a functioning glowplug timer to work so going with the 14V glowplugs and a wilson switch simplifies things, puts the driver in control and is more or...

    Wire on voltage converter relay

Yeah except it actually should actually go through the transmission position switch first rather than directly to an auxiliary relay as I have it wired up.

    14V Glow Plugs on a 1HD-T - Wiring Questions

So my Superglow 6V glowplug controller on my HDJ-81 no longer seems to work and I am replacing it with a manually activated 12V system using the existing main relay and a momentary (wilson) switch. When I measure the resistance across the 14V glowplugs I get about 0.5 Ohms which correspond to...
