I appreciate that. Had a couple of bad outcomes relying on people from ih8mud about the same time last year and it’s good to see this was just an oversight, not something intentional.
Well unfortunately @BarnFab asked to borrow my thermostat housing to make a copy from it but stopped replying to me once he got it. So now I’m out a housing and don’t have my original to take measures from.
Sucks when trying to help out winds up costing you an irreplaceable part.
Just wanted...
I'm happy to share my old 13BT thermostat housing if you need a model for the billet. It's got some thin walls so I wouldn't run it, but it works excellently for dimensions.
That's better than when I had the rudimentary cad file above quoted.
FWIW - I put a Gturbo on mine and use a 3B thermostat housing with no coolant ports (based on advice from Gturbo). I don't know if the factory turbos need the coolant flow or not, but after 10,000 or so miles the grunter I...
Little to none :bang:
I moved from TX to OR this winter so everything got upended. My original t-stat housing is in my moving pod that still hasn't been delivered. I know I've got the base dimensions correct but I haven't been able to go back and verify my dimensions are correct for the top of...
I put a GTurbo unit on mine and they told me it was up to me if I used the water cooling or not. I'm not sure if the internals of their unit are in any way more heat tolerant than the original so I'm not sure how applicable that advice is to a stock CT26.
If you don't need the water cooling...
That project got put on the back burner (utter chaos for me the last year or two and an engine rebuild to boot) but I hope to finish it this winter because mine is on its last legs.
The limiting factor is printing materials. When I first started there weren’t any reasonably priced options that...
Well if anyone else finds themselves in this situation the supplier to the shop I used tried to cross-reference the part to a Bosch injector (not sure why, wish they had just called me), of which there are several between 7mm and 9mm that fit the ND injector body that 13BT's use. I guess the...
The more I look at this the more it seems like they aren’t the correct nozzles but my invoice doesn’t have a part number on it.
I believe this is the correct denso number for a 13bt: DLLA150P10
Is there way to decode that to get nozzle diameter?
I feel like I’m missing something. I had my injectors rebuilt and have new seats but the outside diameter of the nozzle (9 mm) is quite a bit bigger than the inside diameter of the seat (7.6 mm). Is that correct?
If so, how to you get them over the nozzle? With a press first or install them and...
Yes. I’m having it freshened up and it looks like I’m going to have to resleeve or hone the block because there was some scoring on cylinder 4. So now I’m working on getting the block out of the car.
Thanks, I learned that one the hard way :bang:. I made a little ramp with some spare plywood and was able to 'walk' it out without damaging either surface. After a couple of days of penetrating oil and better leverage and I was able to separate the turbo from the manifold.
I’m getting into my first HG job with 13bt and was wondering if it’s possible to remove the head with the turbo and exhaust manifold attached?
I’m having a heck of a time getting the turbo to manifold and turbo to elbow nuts off without better leverage.
If so, is there anything in particular...
I'm actually ordering a VR from New Era (AVR 512 based on this post and they match our pinout). They are about $36 plus shipping. They don't have a US distributor so I emailed them and they will ship direct though it's about $30 for shipping. I can add an extra one to the order if you want to PM me?
I've been just slammed at work. The base fit is really good. I just need to finish the merge top and base and have a plastic model printed to test fit before I can have a functional one printed/machined. I was thinking of giving some of the newer temperature resistance plastic materials a try...
Update on the 3D model - got the base printed and it fits well, next is to have the whole thing printed to check fit and then figure out the best material.
I'll post up here as soon as I do full version demo for fitment. The best way forward is to see how many people will commit to one as most of the consumer level production options give a pretty good volume discount, especially in the jump from 2 or 3 to 15+.
The original is NLA but Dyna's use...
I'm still working on this but it got sidelined because of a few big work projects and a minor accident.
I thought about doing the bar replacement originally but unfortunately the large diameter flange and the base have a lot of corrosion on mine. I can get by for now with the unit but it is not...
