Yeah I had to replace the radiator which started me putting money in it.
It got me out west and back and that's what I bought it for. I keep vehicles a long time and had intended to keep this one.
I've gone and bought the o2 sensor and the wrench Dan spoke of. I may need to listen to some spa...
Lights came back on after 12 miles. Priced the o2 sensors and had code checked and still reading the same code. Upstream part is higher than down stream.
If I replace o2 sensors and still have issues and have to truly replace the catalytic converter, is the new catalytic converter going to...
I took the negative cable off and cleaned the MAF and replaced the air filter. Put everything back together and cranked it and no lights. Drive it 3.5 miles and no lights. I replaced the cabin air filter too since I was doing the filter thing today.
Will drive it more tomorrow and see what happens.
P0430 is the code.
We don't have smog checks in Alabama.
I thought I'd go to the muffler shop that added my exhaust and see if he has had any experience with this and see if he has any suggestions. Maybe there is an alternative to cut the old one out and weld another in place.
I've been told...
When I noticed the lights on it didn't seem to change the way it drove but I didn't take any chances. I drove about 5 miles to my dads farm and parked it.
The weekend before it went totally limp and then finally died on the side of the interstate. I replaced the alternator. It's been driven...
Yeah the estimate to replace is very painful. It's been a rough month where the GX is concerned. I'm researching and asking questions and trying to get as much info as I can, hence why I posted here. I figured I could reach way more folks here with some experience and knowledge.
The GX has one...
I've been having issues with my GX for the past couple of weeks. Two weekends ago I replaced the alternator and now I'm getting codes for bad catalytic converters. The right is completely stopped up and the left is almost stopped up. This was verified at a shop that ran diagnostic testing on it...
I hand washed the GX real well and looked it over and found some bumps and scrapes I've not noticed before. It's back to its original color instead of a tan or grayish white.
I really like this vehicle.
Yes I'd like a mount like that but haven't wanted to drive holes in the body.
I'm thinking of getting the Gobi ladder and attaching the firestick to the ladder and also to transport my Koplin fuel pack. If I'm going to get it I have to order soon to get it and install it before my trip. It's...
coops2k, how long is your firestick that you are using?
I have a 4' firestick but haven't figured out where I want to mount it so I have a magnetic antenna I was going to try to get hooked to use for my trip.
Do you think it comes with any hardware? I noticed it looks like I am missing a bolt to the skid under the radiator and that's what got me to thinking about adding some armor.
I personally would go with the LC version they have because it is smaller but do not like the idea of having it attach to the grab handles and be hanging over people's heads or over the dog when he is in the backseat. I'd love to try it I'm just not wanting to drop a $100 bill and then shipping...
Thanks! Got the message. Appreciate the info!
Backing out of this thread slowly and hoping to keep the wirty dords(dirty words) to a minimum from others that hate when a thread gets hijacked. :poof:
Sorry guys!;)
Mine is holding up so far so good but I do believe over time I may need to readjust. My bags I got from the military surplus store came in handy this past weekend on the ride. I even clipped my handheld CB to the pack to keep it from sliding around on the seat and higher up so I could hear it. I...
I used to own Polaris Rzr and a Honda Rincon before doing the truck/GX/Overlanding thing... I have been looking up some places to explore in Moab. I was told by a guy in Alabama Overland that there are simple dirt roads to do to see some of the area. I have to try to fit this into my trip...
