Well is you want to keep it 5 lug you have two choices, get a elocker toyota axle and buy wheel adapters i think spydertrax has them, or like hilux said get a ford 8.8 explorer axle gear it and weld on the brakets and buckets for you links and coils. I have a friend who just did this to his ZJ...
yeah things are really tight but as long as you set all your bumps up right you should be in good shape. I know it took me a few times of wheeling o dial in my shock length and bump stop height
Just get a elocker axle with 4.56:1 gears out of 4runner it is already set up for coils and buy some cheap toyota wheels for your back tires and for goodness sake get rid of that piece of crap Dana 35 axle
I run the rears up front and they are a custom pack but all used leafs, got them for free but i could of got junkyard ones for 50bucks they flex great. The guy who gave me the rears said he used to have them on his 81 pickup up front but he put some trail gear ones on instead he told me that he...
I see 4 to5 inches of uptravel is good youreally are looking for lots of droop. I see why the bracket has to be so far in front, have to make everything fit and that can be very hard
Will do, how long of coil overs are you running in the front? Also with the length your running will you have to come up through the hood or wheel well?
I wonder why the panhard tower isnt back a half inch or so it seems kinds far out in front of the axle to me. I will be watching because i hope to three link my front in the next year get as much pics as possible
i run about 5 inches of lift with a one peice on my 4runner and after new ujoints i had no shakes but i would make a spacer for the cv to bolt to or buy one just a 1/2 inch one or so should make it work for you
Tps or the MAS, The MAS is famous for wearing out from lots of the same throttle areas being used, u can cut teh seal and take off the top of the MAS and try and see if the circuit board is worn
I agree i wuold get rid of the crappy carrier bearing and go with the one piece drive shaft from the junkyard, make sure to check your ujoints too because all the wobbling could of worn them out
gasket is what i used never leaks, did rtv one time and it leaked after a couple of months not saying it cant work but the gasket is better. Only like 5 bucks at napa
Agree
I agree with what has been said, mount it through the frame, get some new springs and front mounts and call it good. Here is some pictures of my 1991 4runner SAS, this is the perfect shackle angle, even though i wish i would of moved mine a inch more forward, it turned out great:), won't...
Yes I'm in the same boat and i have a 1980 drive shaft so it won't bind but i'm also afraid it will come out in extreme articulation, i have a1991 4runner with a low pinion 1980 axle, so how much is it about to lengthen a stock drive shaft and do i still need a longer splines? This is the only...
wow he chose my pick, well i guess the under dog takes it again, can't help it i'm always a fan for the under dogs because they usually turn out great, but not always
trail gear is susposed to have a great track record but not as good as marlin, but hey you can never argue with advanced adapters they have been doing it longer than anyone, but i still say trail gear the 4.7 to one if a great ratio and they specialize in toyotas
