So my unfinished ones arrived. I am good with black and the texture is good, so do I need to put something on these as a UV blocker? Maybe a clear coat of some sort, or do you recommend some black epoxy paint (since it seems to stick to most things) to protect it from indirect UV rays? Otherwise...
Ok well your etsy store is showing empty. when you get some more trim pieces. I will need to order a set from you. I bought my truck in boxes so as i find other stuff I need, I will let you know to see if you are considering making them.
Hey what else is on your re-creating list? I am not very far belong but i am just about at the point to do the headliner. but if you are developing something else i need I can wait on ordering the trim...
Been very distracted by other vehicle work but prepped my fenders for paint, cleaned up sun visors, prepped...fixed and painted dash metel, and derusted-reshamed headlight brackets and got them painted up. Just procrastinating on doing the necessary wiring work...
I need to paint the dash...
I am trying to repair the back portion of my bed skirt... if I fail then I am def considering the way you did that rear bumper behind the wheel well. That is sharp!
I think you would have a good business if you could reproduce quality bed side parts, especially the bed skirts that rust so much. I am getting close to the point where i will be working on my bed and trying to reproduce a least a couple places. If i get a 3d scanner.... i'll make some scans...
I believe it is. it is the number on the box. There was a GMB part number i found on some of the taco forums that also had GUT 27 mentioned. So i am wondering if it is standard.. I do think that if there is a joint that is 28.5mm x 48mm it would be a more accurate fit to the original koyo I...
Well after much measuring and searching, I finally got some joints that fit. Ended up finding someone to order by size and brand. Even then I needed to cleanup the inner yoke faces with a file to get the snap rings in correctly. Been sick so wanted to focus on things I could so without too much...
Yes the outer box says Made in Japan. In fact I had been moving to them from moog as most of the moog stuff I've gotten in the last couple of years has been very sloppy. This is the first time I've gotten GMB stuff that wasn't from Japan. I can't tell you how the long term is of GMB stuff that...
Chinese boxes in Japanese boxes... surprise they are gritty too....
Unfortunately the center ball joint was rusted and wouldn't let me pump anything new in it so i had to put skf UJ613 in there. which is not quite as nice as the original since it isn't in a brass sleeve....was hoping this...
Those are cool. Where I live there is a renewed battle to stop these from being put on the road. I keep my eyes out though for a good deal on one witb 4wd and a locker.
What are your plans for it?
Thanks for grabbing the pictures and posting them! This will help a lot!
Edit: I did a little fusing from what you posted and have the wiring diagram in one sheet.
Found this little 30 amp fuse, set for the Instrument Cluster lights..... You can see some of the carnage for the wire going to the Rheostat (Dimmer).
Been looking hard for some 1979 Toyota Wiring Diagrams but no luck. Did find some for 81 and 83 which made it in to the Resources section for...
So for rust prevention what is common for your area?
Here we have anything from fluid film to cosmoline films...or any number of oils that people spray on.
Your stuff never looks very rusty so I wonder if you all don't use salt as much as we do in our colder regions
