California Title and Registration of Diesels

Are you the guy who ran the taco surf account a few years back? Cool stuff. As for the van, you could go the Montana/south Dakota route and it would probably be fine, but there's always a chance it could get popped at some point. Really uncommon, as they're mainly looking for people buying...

HDJ81 (that seem to have fj80 VIN) register in California

Basically all loopholes have been closed, there'd a pretty lengthy thread discussing CA import registration on here and the general consensus is that right now the chances of slipping through are extremely low if not impossible. Best to look for other means of registration.

Pretty much, and that shop in Santa Ana won't even do diesels anymore according to the DMV site. California: stay for the Beaches and Mountains, leave because literally everything else

If it was that easy, this thread wouldn't exist and we'd all be circling around singing kum ba ya with Gavin Newsom

California Title and Registration of Diesels

From what I gathered the worst that can happen is big fines or you'd be forced to sell potentially. If I remember right your plate blends in pretty well. I bet a thicker license plate frame and everyone would just assume it's a CA plate anyway

I recognize that truck from IG haha, great looking 80. As far as registration goes nothing has changed. You could get lucky but most likely not.

    imported 70 registration questions

Hey everyone, In the final stages of either importing or buying a 70 series. The state I live in is obviously the worst possible place to own any kind of import, however my dad lives and owns a property in Tennessee and is a resident there. Are there any risks to registering the truck there in...

California Title and Registration of Diesels

From what this thread has gathered, that's the brick wall you're going to hit. If you can't "sneak" it past the suits in Sacramento you're pretty much screwed

California Title and Registration of Diesels

Personally I wouldn’t, but if someone really wants a 70 series and will throw out the money for CARB compliance it’s kind of the only option

There are gas powered 70 series models

California Title and Registration of Diesels

I’m curious if an imported gas powered LC would be an option for CA residents
