    I recommend you put a bungee or something through the tires when you carry the bike though. The spinning wheels will exert an astounding gyroscopic force on your car and the bikes.

    Hitch receiver cargo - be careful!!!

    I was at Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday and guess what - they already make a hitch mounted BBQ. It swings out to open the tailgate, but is a full rig like your patio model, mounted on a hitch rack. I would follow that truck anywhere if it smelled right.
