johnny joints!
The Original Johnny Joints are the way to go, Currie has them for $39.95 and they are a completely forged, one piece rebuildable unit.Just stay away from the welded ones.
tow ponits
I use .250 wall for the down tubes and the main tube when mounting those.(I bought the poison spider one's before, but would buy yours if the price is nice!:))They are nice.
nice clevis mounts!
Those are real nice clevis mounts! could you bevel the mounting surface to fit 1 3/4" - 2" tubing? Cause that would be sweet.:hhmm: awesome work by the way!
bumper ideas!
Yeah I really like the first one too.:clap:It looks tough, simple and functional....maybe with the main tube 2" 1.53 wall?I didn't add them, but those weld on receovery ponits from Poison Spider wold look great as well.
first run !
I tried a couple different ways to do the radiator bar, but it just looked too tall.Yeah those lines are going to be tough to make look good!I would probably try to fit something inside the hood for that protection. It really won't help the sheet metal, but would still protect and...
bumper ideas!
Now that I know you want it in tube I will get something to you by tonight.I did some paint shop on your rig already, but it was a plate style bumper.Maybe I'll post both for you later anyhow!By the way that rig is SICK!!!
Full width?
Just wondering, did you leave those full width? I'm pretty sure from the pics, but you never know unless you ask! If so,what back spacing are your wheels? That is one mean looking 60!
DOM vs. HREW
I agree with 4rnr with DOM being a stronger tube, it seems to be that much more durable which makes it worth the price to me! I guess thats why people think my prices are high, thats all I use is DOM.
cazy with the tape !!
DAMN Dude, crazy tape job ! Could have saved about an hour at least with a bit more paper.Oh well done now, and looks awesome !!:D
fj80 axles on 40's
Check out Action Jackson's site he had a pretty nice 80 on 40's with no problems, of course after the lonfield upgrade, and the three link front install.
brand of coils
Sorry I did'nt get the brand from him I know they were 4.5" lift though.
quote=ajfriz;2897141]Do you know what brand/lift those coils are? That does look sweet!
gauge cluster
That one looks good too! whats it going in? I am using the factory indicators cut in from the back. Will post more pics soon of the finished product.:)
glare off of cluster
It does'nt seem as bad as my camera flash made it. But yeah I thought about it too! the cluster sits somewhat vertical, and as under that lip of the top pad. So hopefully it won't be too bad, but powdercoat options would look great as well...
I had purchased the guages that I want to run in my fj60 probably about 6 mo. ago, and have'nt really had the time to mess with much on the whole project since then. I finally have been getting back into it little by little, and here is the cluster I came up with.It fits nicely in the stock...
hood ornament
Yeah I was hoping you did'nt mind, but he is all boy and loves cruisers already (gotta raise him right!) He saw me go out and take delivery of it and was exctatic - jumping around yelling "tuck, tuck, tuck" - (truck in his terms) he does'nt quite know cruiser yet, but he can't stay...
