I bought a new 8274-50, 1400 bucks. If i were to do it again, i would buy a used one for cheap and rebuild it. Before, i needed one right away, but now, a project of rebuilding one would be fun, saving money and possibly upgrading.
Great price. Makes me wonder a bit about the quality. I buy warn stuff, even if you wont be using it a lot, the one time you really need it to work, it needs to work!
I picked one up at Quality Supply for $100. Going to put it on my trailer to pull the raft up in tricky situations. Then im going to build a headache rack for my truck to mount it to so i can pull elk into the bed with ease. Sweet little winch.
I had the same problem. Check the connections on top going into the motor. Mine was loose, and it was brand new. Call warn, they can give you a number for the closest place that works on them. Give those guys a call and tell um whats going on. Worked for me. The part on mine that was loose...
I got stuck today in some pretty nasty mud, its been raining for 2 months. I put the warn on a month ago and it has only been used a couple of times, brand new. The PO put a new battery in the 40 so the mechanic said to run it till it needed to be replaced, just keep the motor running while im...
Well, i found a 8274-50 on clemson4wheel.com for 1500 bucks. It was the cheapest i could find, so i ordered it. I hate to spend that much money, but i know im gonna love it! Cant wait to use that thing.
Thanks guys
Thanks Alan. If i do go with something like a XD9000, will it mount to my bumper? I have the plane looking bumper with a fairlead spot in the middle, and above is a plate that sticks up off the bumper with holes for mounting. Heres a pic, the plate is behind the jack.
Im looking at getting a warn for my 40 but not sure wich one. I did some searching on here and found that the 8274 would be the best one, but for my price range a new one is too much. Will any warn work on a 40? I was looking at the XD9000.
Thanks
