My 8274-50 is just clicking when spooling in. It spools out just fine. If I jump across the two bolts my fingers are pointing to, then it will spoil in. Is this a grounding issue? I’ve removed the nuts from the 8 large bolts and cleaned the connections, but that didn’t help. Since it spools in...
Anyone have pics or info on how rope is mounted to the drum of an 8274-50? The rope end piece that's supposed to bolt to the drum won't work because the cable fits through a hole in the drum. The drum also doesn't have a threaded hole to bolt the rope to. Do I need to drill and tap a hole or ...
I saw this in a magazine recently. Anyone have one of these?

I had an mx8000 (older version), then an m8000 on my 40 for years without a problem. Used it many times in snow, mud, rocks, etc. Very nice winch. The only reason I still don't have it is that I had my front end rebuilt recently including a new bumper for an 8274.
A difference of $400? You're looking at the wrong site.
The PE8000 is $389.

I have not used it to winch my cruiser out of being stuck. I have a Warn for that. I have it in case I need to winch myself or someone else (with the Warn) and provide support on the side (hand winch) so they don't roll. That I've had to do twice.
Looks to be the same as this, but more expensive:

Get the More Power Puller. The 3-ton unit LIFTS 6000 pounds. It can drag much more then that. It only weighs 27 pounds and the 3-ton unit is only $150.
