So I think the Michelin Defender is the perfect all-terrain tire... (For most of us)

I almost get it, but did you read his post? He did called limits on heavy mud (which will still see MTs stuck in anyway) and hard rock crawling. Everything else would be AT, gravel, washboard, dirt, snow, ice, sand. Just because it doesn’t look like an AT doesn’t mean it can’t do it, all...

I’m still trying to figure out who thought 20s on 4x4s would be cool. Never understood the rubber band side walls. Gotta be a rough ride.

    Just check your load rating on the tire. 125 = 3640 x 4 = 14,560lbs.

Thanks for the read! I too carry two tire gauges, I had a bad one and inflated my wife’s bike tire too high…honestly I don’t know how high but the second I sat on it, it blew up!

Yeah, this was what I woke up to one morning in the White Mountains…. Plates old and cars sold so not worried about it.

100 series owner, but new tires caught my eye. Been running wildpeaks because I tend to find myself in the NE in deep snow(10-24” road/dirt roads) in mid winter. Great snow, loud and lasted 30kish. Have any of you rode these in deeper snow/ icy wet conditions?

    Too much rust?

Guess I should show you my 4R frame, looks about the same underneath…. Then you get above the spare and behind the rear bumper cover….scales just peeling off. Rest of the frame is “surface” but I have some nasty scaling up high where the PO never got under the truck. My front crossmember is also...

N = Normal height, it still actively does it’s thing.

    Too much rust?

Even around my local, under treatment is not common. Most likely just a newer tec not knowing what it was, possible he was concerned he did something. I’d rather have someone concerned and investigate though! My wife drove maybe 5 miles with a slow ATF leak out of one cooler line… I was worried...

    Too much rust?

Best lessons learned are the ones you mess up yourself sometimes. 🤣 I’m rooting for @jason2323, anyone who’s willing to clean up some rust to preserve another cruiser is doing a good thing in my book, just wanted to warn him of what he could possibly be getting into. Rust isn’t fun in my book...

I believe so, weight is also a big difference. 5-6000lb cruiser vs 2-3000 cars/crossovers…

    Too much rust?

No way I’d buy it, like others have said, forget the mileage and just look at the bottom. If you really think the worst of it is seen… go check out the 100 forums of frame off restos, no doubt you got rust higher up where you can’t see it. NYC driving sucks and they use salt and brine. You...

Betting on those COVID produced cars, I sent back a lot of bad material on job sites between 21-22. Lots of QC issues popped up.

Watched a 2021 Dodge 2500 with 25k and a 2020 Fire f-150 with about 35k both get towed at the same job about two weeks ago. Both had some bad misfire problems. The ford owner is very unhappy with his truck, many recalls/problems. Dodge owner likes his truck and was his first problem. My current...

Most people think 100k miles is high and replace their cars, it’s going to be hard to get datapoints of 200k. Also really any vehicle can go 200k if you do proper maintenance, oil changes, address the small problems early. Here’s some 200k vehicles that I’ve owned or been in many times 270k...

    Crushed By a Large Tree

Good info to know, it’s always too late upon your ‘first’ time and learning. Thanks! Looks like the trees guys did well, hopefully nothings bent. LCs are tuff!

Wow! Looks like the house took the brunt. Going to be on the tree guys to not crush the vehicle.

    Death of a 3UR

Sucks that your LC has been down so long. There’s a LX470 in the 100 series along the same lines. Had 2 bad engines first then finally gets rolling again only for a month or so…. First oil change see metal in the filter, back to looking for another engine after shop errors. His all stemmed for a...
