I used some light rubbing compound and an mild steel wool pad or a scotch brite pad. It removes the water and soap stains and makes it look new again
Cost about 5 dollars
If you kept putting coat on top of coat you get material build up and that is no good either at some point. Just sand smooth with some 1500 w/d and reshoot. They use to make an additive to help with orange peel years ago. Maybe they still do. You might wanna check.
they make a liquid polish i think mcquires and a few others, anyway i use it on the show cars i have. you just wipe on and leave and it makes it shine and repeal water real good. you really dont need anything on new paint. i will post the brand i use tomorrow when i look
I will. Unless they raised their prices they did my frame for 350 just for Powerkote and now they have there own sandblasted and they did my cage for 300 including the sandblasting. I have a friend who cant do parts that big but he did all the rest for me
frame sandblast and powderkote. if you dont mind the drive you can take it to vancouver wa and get it done really cheap. maybe around 500 for blasting and powderkoting. i have a friend that has a smaller size oven and can do things bumper size really really cheap any color no extra charge
Depends what gauge the material is. Start with a low setting. You don't want it to high that the hole gets bigger. Just fill in and smooth out. Make sure there's nothing that will burn like wires and so on
yes it is but why???? you would have to either clear coat or clear powerkote it or she will rust real fast.
you can always cover it in oil or vasealine and that will stop it from rusting. LOL
just hold a piece of brass behind the hole and weld them shut. or just fill them in with weld. as far as the dent goes dolley it out and fill with bondo. thats all you can do
the waterborne is just fine its the new eco way to do it. the other way is just the little older way to do it and it also is just fine. cant go wrong either way. as far as an all over paint job if you are changing colors i would do it that way including door jams and everything even dash but...
you are screwed but if you do it slow maybe it will kept up but i would worry about drying between passes. do you have a dryer that plug will work. just run a longer cord
