Mark: Just left you a VM at the office. Yes, looking for shield and brackets. Call me back and let me know how much $ to send your direction.
Thanks, as always.
Still Looking: Since new headers will be going on soon, and because exhaust heat on the steering box is a concern, I'm still interested in seeing if I can find a later model heat shield and brackets for a manual box. Perhaps I can modify it to fit.
I found this useful photo posted by LITP. He says: "These are left to right. 74-7/80 FJ40 H42 four speed. 3/82 FJ40 H42 four speed. 3/83 BJ42 H55F five speed." I believe that I need the one on the far left. PN # 51495-60030
Is it just a rubber rectangular tube? If so, I have one. I was hopeful that Toyota made it out of rigid material. The rubber sleeve is a pain to re-install and while it fits somewhat tight it nonetheless must be secured with zip ties.
I removed this rear view mirror from our 1970. The fasteners are not concealed as they are with the OEM. However the holes do line up with the mounting holes in the windshield frame and I believe that it is the proper pewter color. Free to a good home if you pay the shipping cost.
The upper Mounting Brackets are a pair of aftermarket ones that I used on our 1970 until recently when I found a pair of NLA brackets. The other parts are OEM and freshly powder coated. $50.00 plus shipping.
I recently purchased a new one from @Ruben C with Capo Valley Toyota Parts Department. Maybe I got one of the last ones or maybe Ruben can track one down for you. Either way, it is worth a call.

Funny thing, I have a weak recollection of us talking about those hose hangers but that is the extent of where my memory extends. The rest is a blank (happens frequently these days). If the hose hangers happen to show their face, I'll take them but otherwise no sweat. We need to catch up via...
Thanks, Mark. Sold. Shall I call, or alternatively just send PP for $122 your way? Not sure if I need to add extra for shipping.
By the way, enjoyed very much your interview with Dan. I didn't realize that you were an English major. :)
