    John Deere HIR bulbs

So, I pulled the trigger with Candlepower after they told me that they supply their bulbs to Rallylights/Susquehanna(sp). :hillbilly: They still have the $100/set deal on the HIR's. Just an FYI.

cary, Just the man I was hoping that would chime in. :D But the one(s) on Rallylights show more lumens... Does that mean that Rallylights have newer-spec or they're fudging their numbers or something? I know, the price difference is almost too large to justify the increased output though.

Did it say anywhere on the package that it was "HIR"? Not that you'd held on to the original box this long, but... I'm taking my family up to Canada next week and I would like to get HIR's. I just want to make sure that I get the real deal and if there's a brighter version...

Are yours HIR though? I've read somewhere that some of the Amazon selleres were selling non-HIR's as HIR's. I don't mind paying a bit more for a.little more linens, as long as I am.paying for what I think I am paying for. I may just have to call Candlepower...

Any difference? So, I'm in need of picking up another set and am trying to decide whether there are differences between those offered by Rallylights and CandlePower besides the prices. Rallylights says that their bulbs lumens are 2400 and 3000 and without doing too much detective work I...

That's where I got mine from, but for my Sienna. I need to get another set just so I wouldn't have to have any down time w/o them.

I've just installed both low and high beams HIR's (the $100 special from Candlepower) on my Sienna and was a bit disappointed with the lowbeam performance, but was impressed with the highs. I'm going to slap on beefier wiring harness and see if drawing juice directly from the battery would...

FWIW, here's some stuff that some Mud old farts have seen already about the 80's headlights 'n stuff. Euro headlights (OEM) DEPO lights (RHD version) While we're at it... 80 with BMW headlights modded in. Anyway, FWIW! :p;)

Not sure if you're talking about the funny-shaped IPF bulbs that I had posted pics of above or the JD HIR's, but I'm guessing it's the former. :) Both Toyota and DEPO lenses are glass. And both Toyota and DEPO reflectors are plastic (ABS?). I have not had any problems with my IPF's and I...

IIRC, the IPF's are not HIR's, or at least that's not what they say on their Japanese web site. Again, going from memory, so I'll try looking it up later... That said, I've had their blue bulbs in my headlights for a while now and have been fairly happy with them. I've posted pics and stuff...

MiniPigg, If you don't mind the installation part with the HID, don't care if you potentially blind on-coming traffic, don't mind neither not minding coughing up the $$($) when it comes to replacing one of the components if it/they fail, and don't mind possibly blinding yourself in a...
