How will you adapt the HF2A? Or will you, rather. I know of a couple Aussies thatve done the 6bt/1000 route but the company they’ve referenced for adapters doesn’t seem to be around. Thanks!
Yes, there’s a few, or maybe one under various brandings. Not 100% sure. Compushift says they’ll have one soon, also for the ab60 soon, but they’ve been saying that for a bit. I think the 6l80/90 will have support, being from the LS world. And there are already some solid options. FB has a good...
Is there an adapter to that transmission? That’s would help the main thing. CJMOON and turbophil have both transitioned from a343’s to 6l80’s. There is an adapter for that transmission, as well as to the HF2A.
I think the vibrations break their odometer gears before they can run through a full tank. 😂😂
Edit: @lt1fire - I remember your post awhile back about wanting to stay toyota tranny. Hit me up if you’re still in that camp. I’ve got an A440 (have to mod the converter snout)/A442/A343 to Cummins...
As others mentioned, the toyota stuff is plenty stout when used reasonably. I do know two guys personally who were not happy with the 4bt’s drivability and vibes and ended up going to other dieselS. But cjmoon and others have been plenty happy with them. I imagine it’s all about expectations. It...
The 2H or 12HT? What tranny? I think the first post in this thread (may be wrong... maybe Stone?) had a 12HT in an 80. Give it a read.
Most will say the 2H will not be a good plan. Many would say the 12HT is a decent option power wise, but getting hard to find parts for, and there are much...
Nowadays, that pretty much IS the thread. Search in the 80’s section, if that’s what you have, for Cummins 6bt, not Cummings. You’ll find tons of threads.
@witsend and @lostih make a nv4500-hf2a adapter. Other than that it’s research through all the threads and learn how others adapt the stuff you mentioned.
