ok. so does anyone happen to know how you install this part?
i've got the new clock spring and i have the old one partially removed but there is a harness in the pics in this thread that is buried up under the cowling around the steering column.
and it looks like a lot of effort to get back...
hey boss. yeah i get that. i was just trying to point out that the amount of data for anyone new to the toyota fiche is hard to wrap your head around.
it's nice to be able to verify things for yourself and not have to rely on what someone is saying even if they are probably right.
the lexus...
yeah. i could try that. thanks a lot. because the toyota dealer is down the road and they are pretty down to earth i usually go there for stuff.
but you're right i have gone to lexus for the keys and the radio so they could confirm i guess. i think @zapartius and @WCBlueSky were right on about...
toyota dealer forgot to order the clock spring. so it so it will be another three days for a new one.
meanwhile some intel i the clock spring. also i am going to try those electrical tests when i get a minute.
anyway you definitely need to read the FSM for the airbag. they require 90 seconds...
thank you. appreciate your helping me get my head around it all.
i was looking again at the info you posted and it is actually a bit weird they seem to be using the toyota part numbers on the lexus site. i think.
anyway even the freaking pricing on this thing is hard to wrap your head around...
hey man. lots of lurkers here apparently.
i appreciate your and zapatius's help. i like to think there is information here that will be useful to others. i think it is really easy to forget how hard it is to do something (like wrenching or electrical or just using a new fiche...) for the first...
i looked it up in the partsouq fiche and posted the results. you were kind enough to say "The correct substitution part would be 84306-24010."
i can't see this in the fiche so i was hoping to confirm the part number before ordering it.
maybe i should be looking things up in a different fiche...
gents. can i please just confirm the part number for the lexus model (same for the 95-97 LC i guess) is 84306-24010 please?
i want to order one and the part numbers and pricing for this part (NAPA wants $625) is all over the map...
hi WCBlueSky. thanks a TON for this.
i have the fluke documentation printed out here and never took the time to do an actual continuity test. so i can pull it out and reread it. tomorrow. for some reason Ohm reading throws me because i always have to remember what 0 and 1 mean but i guess if i...
i can do the same at the horn i guess?
i'll google continuity test. i really should finally figure this out.
actually the battery is out. do you mind if i just ask you a couple questions about how to test continuity at the horn for starters?
then also the cable?
for the horn i need to hook the...
ah crap. thanks man.
i need to study what you posted. sorry.
on diagnostic i tried for awhile to figure out what i needed to do. basically all i did was clean the contacts and ground at the horn. also to inspect and replace the horn fuse.
i wanted to test continuity at the horn and also i...
thanks for all that. i APPRECIATE that.
i called NAPA this morning and they wanted $625 so i kind of went down the rabbit hole today.
some come with two stalks. some don't. some are unavailable. then there is the lexus thing to figure out.
i mean i guess the toyota version contains enough wires...
THANKS man. but i'm not following. that's the lexus site. i super don't want to pay $437 for this part. and i don't have a hookup at a lexus dealer so it is unlikely i will get it cheaper than retail.
84306-24010 is the part number for toyota fiche but it also fits the lexus - yes?(!)
