Does that infer some 4R configs will get the 9.5 rear diff? That'd be tough.

Same. That tan is going to be hard to get. Please let it be just the 4 cylinder turbo and NOT the hybrid. Is a manual trans too much to hope for?!?

The problem is, with all the hype around this new model, dealers are going to be adding 5-15k on top of MSRP, at least for a year or two.

I wonder if they're still going to build them in Japan or switch to Mexico and send them down the Tacoma assembly lines.

Who'd have thought....avoiding virtue signaling group-think ultimately drives success. :hmm: https://dailycaller.com/2024/02/07/toyota-2023-fiscal-year-30-billion-profit-avoiding-electric-vehicles-hybrids/

Yeah, kinda bummed. I had my brother convinced to get it with a 12k price limit but he got busy at work today and didn't enter a bid.

No reserve LS400, 66k miles. What do you think this goes for? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1990-lexus-ls400-5/

I think it looks good (round headlight version). I just wish they hadn't castrated it with a hybrid power train. I'd be seriously interested if it had the turbo inline 4 and a manual transmission. It's the same platform as the 24 Tacoma so clearly it's possible. Maybe future years will have...

If anyone has been saving big expensive parts in their various Toyota dealer parts websites carts this may be a good time to pull the trigger. Jim Hudson (out of Columbia, SC (where I got my GRC)) is doing an additional 20% off for all parts for the next 4 days. Plus free shipping up to $200...

Conicelli Toyota is probably the next best option for us in the mid Atlantic.

You guys see McGeorge Toyota in Richmond was bought out by Ourisman? Their online parts store is down atm too. I wonder if they're going to shut down the discount parts business. That'd be a big loss.

I'd love to see a 1975+ version of that video and then a 1979+. You got to think the assembly changed dramatically over those time periods.

This popped up on C&D's front page. Read the 80's review versus the Grand Cherokee's. You'd think they picked the LC as the winner based on the copy. It's funny they thought it had a huge interior back then...

I'm sure it has everything to do with the outrageous CAFE standards here in the states.

I totally agree. Longevity and true, third world toughness are key attributes for me. The 2.4 turbo has 278hp and 317 lbs/ft of torque without the hybrid setup. That should have been plenty to move this truck around.

Bummer on the hybrid only power plant and no manual transmission. Hopefully the new 4r gets the 24 Tacoma's drivetrain including the manual.
