The best holding is a good clamp and a good boot with the tubes having raised ends for boot holding. The boot Hojack used was a temporary rubber deal to get him home from my shop when we installed his new turbo. The silicon boot he plans to get should solve this issue. Due to compress air...
When people see a couple power cords plugged into your cruiser you'll just have to tell them it's a hybrid.
A real question: have you plugged in your coolant heater to see how it works? Any leaks from the install?
Looks like our last minute fusible link fix is working. One of the vendors on here sells new ones but I can't remember which one. Perhaps someone else does and can chime in.
@GLTHFJ60, Do you remember the pump settings you liked to run with the super? I know it's probably in your thread...
Silver falls is definitely a hidden gem. I remember it being surprising that all those falls are there when on the drive out it seems more like flat land. Awesome hiking.
Perfect, this is one of the reasons having the pressure gauge is awesome. For me that spring got me 7 psi on my gauge but snipping your original worked out just right. Glad you got the pressure back to a safe range.
I'm on the side of keeping a "snubber" like this or a needle valve in the fuel pressure line going to the gauge. It's still accurate, it just smooths out the pulses coming from the lift pump and allows one to read the value easier.
I typed in "turbo blanket sizing" in google and brought up the following chart:
How do I determine what size turbo blanket I need for my turbocharger?
Hot Side Diameter
Universal Turbo Blanket Sizes:
5 to 6 inches
T3 turbo blanket
6 to 7.5 inches
T3/T4 turbo blanket
7.5 to 8.5 inches...
That description was helpful. It's only for quick, high demand draws, not lower constant stuff like a fridge.
This is just my opinion but I think a standard two battery set up has greater functionality. They can be combined depending what isolator/combiner is used to provide more cranking...
I don't know much about the new capacitor trend. I run dual batteries to gain the additional amp hours for running stuff while camping and to not pull down my starting battery. If I need additional umph to start I can combine to two batteries to give me more. From my limited understanding can...
@cruisermatt I didn't think of it at the time because we installed the gear the way we pulled it off but is that gear on backwards? Is that lip supposed to seal on the oil seal in the front half of the case (which also wasn't installed when we pulled it off and consequentially didn't install).
When we took it apart there wasn't a bearing on that spot. They had a seal and the other shorter spacer on that spot that fit perfectly in that seal. Whoever put it together the first time must have gotten that mixed up. Glad we put it in then.
