@Surfdc Awesome. Glad it worked. For me I could tell my buzzing was only coming from the top coils that were barely touching each other. I've had them on for a couple years now and still holding up. Long washboard roads are lot less annoying now. (And even just a rough paved road).
Simple fix. Just grab a couple sets of these, jack the truck up from the frame to unload the suspension and slide them in. No need to disassemble anything or even take off the tire.
I've had mine installed for 2 years now and haven't had a buzz since...
FYI - I have these in my truck. I wish I didn't mess with the wiring because for the light to turn on, the unit needs to be completely slid over in the collapsed position. On the 80, if you flip it down, the light wont turn on. You have to pull it out from the mount, slide it towards the...
Just wrote a post the other day about the coilsprung airbags... but you'll need to remove your bump stop. Coil airbags work by pressing outwards against the spring, not vertically like a leaf spring bag. The way you have it now will make it ride unbearable, and will most likely just blow the...
For the brake lights, check unprotected green wire that runs underneath the carpet at the rear of the truck. Also check trailer control box on rear passenger side wheel well (accessed by going through rear quarter panel). The little green wire will short out on the sharp sheet metal.
After researching tents for the last few years, I finally pulled the trigger on a 9x8 Kodiak Canvas tent. I liked the modest foot print and the fact you can stand up in it (unless you're over 6ft). Got to run out to Anza Borrego for the weekend to try it out and it did not disappoint! Winds were...
Bought some 315/75r16 Yokohama Geolandar's for black friday. Fist impressions are they run slightly narrower than my Toyo MT's. Honestly, I thought I'd notice the 15lb weight difference per tire, but I don't. They look pretty cool and I'm excited to have some new tires for my next trip. Only...
Well, that's good to hear that the drag link adjustment fixed your steering wheel issue. That is a bit strange though it happened in the first place after the Surf n Turf. Could you see if the tube was bent at all? It may have just bent a hair. Not a big deal obviously.
Also I know you're a...
Installed a Nolathane / Whiteline swaybar from @cowboyjack this past weekend. So far a great improvement. Feels like I'll be able to get away with a softer rear spring now that the body roll is being handled better with the sway bar.
Since it is to the right like that, it means the relay rod is too short... ie... may have got bent. Try lengthening the relay rod and see if that fixes it.
Logged about 350 miles offroad in Mexico and did some trails and some areas I've never been to which was nice. Was nice to have my cousin in his 4runner just in case. One trail going through the mountains appeared to have not been traveled in months / years. Probably drove through at least 20...
