I wouldn't consider your console a fail at all. It came out great. Nice job on the B-pillar too. Too bad nobody makes reproduction trim. My 86 Xtra cab A and B-pillar trim is dust. Nice job on the trim ring as well.
Looks good. Did they have to replace any foam in the seats? The console looks better. Nice job.
3d printing the plugs is pretty cool. I welded steel caps on mine back in the day.
I like the design, you did a good job building it and I don't know jack about upholstery but maybe you can cover the wood without foam? Vinyl directly on the wood??
Yeah I see why you like the double tube. I actually HAD two of the single tube. I sold one and the other is still on my 88. I haven't really tried selling anything off it yet. Once I get everything I need for the 86 build, what's left of the 88 is being sold or parted out. Sad but, I can't keep...
Hey that looks a lot like my 88. I had Smittybilt tube bumpers on it at one time. I still have the roll bar but it's a single. It's for sale but I'm in Tucson area.
There's one of those steering wheels on CL Phoenix. I have no idea if it's a reasonable price. Not mine and I don't know the seller. 78-83 Toyota Truck Steering Wheel 3 post Sr5, Mud flaps w mount... - https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/pts/d/black-canyon-city-toyota-truck-steering/7435186526.html
Well.............it is an addiction. I bought those Smittybilt tube bumpers off CL for my 88 a while back. I think they look good on a vintage Toyota. They are pretty stout.
Man that's actually a solid truck to start with. AND......you actually drove it home AND.......the 4WD worked!! Come on. You have a great start. X3 on the shifter bushing by the way. Good luck with your projects.
