If I can do it, you can too.

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

Huge thanks to @cruisermatt for helping me sort out the wiring. FWIW, I thought I'd post how I wired in my swap harness in case it helps someone else in the future. Not sure if this is the right way, but it seems to work. Please let me know if you see any mistakes. How to graft a standalone LS...

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

It's a 62, so I'm using the stock fuel pump. There's already wiring for it in the stock harness - I just need to find it (would rather tie into the stock fuel pump wire and not run a second wire all the way back to the fuel pump). The bulb is the stock check engine light from the 62.

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

A little wiring help, please? Check engine light - which is the + and which is the - on the Toyota harness? Yellow and/or Yellow with tracer? BP Automotive says it matters when connecting their harness. Need to run oil pressure and water temp wires to the gauges. @cruisermatt said tap into...

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

@cruisermatt Making progress on the wiring but discovered my xfer case connectors don’t match my body harness connectors. Was there an intermediate harness on the AF440 that I should have grabbed? Xfer case connectors Body harness connectors with your 4l60e pigtail in the background

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

OK. So I'm not crazy, then. My donor LS is from a 2006 Yukon and it has a return-less intake/fuel rail. So I'm pulling the steel lines and running a corvette filter/regulator and then rubber AN line up to the intake. BTW, how are you going to run your vacuum lines for the xfer case? Mine seem...

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

Yeah. That's where this line was running - along passenger side frame rail. It was "bundled" with the supply line. There's a third line that runs along the passenger frame rail, but ran separately. I guess that one is the return. I'll get a pick in the AM.

Thanks for the response. Could that be the vent line? It was running alongside the supply line, so I ASSumed...

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

Finally getting back to work on my swap, and I have questions. Hoping the world of Mud can set me straight. 1. Where does this line go? What does it do? It passes through the passenger side firewall and looks like some kind of vacuum line. Is it for HVAC? 2. Is this the source vacuum for the...

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

Yes, I need to get back to the monthly meeting. I seem to always have a work conflict, but one of these days. I’m going to give the shroud a shot on my own, but may need your help if it turns out looking like doodoo.

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

I'm going to attempt to reuse my stock radiator with a mechanical fan. The original fan shroud won't work with that, so I'll probably go with a summit DIY kit. I only found two DIY shroud kits at Summit that come close to fitting the 16"-ish radiator height and neither has mounting provisions on...

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

Made progress on the grill area. Mounted transmission cooler and power steering cooler. Ram cooler lines along the top of the frame rail. Next up is the radiator shroud.

So no need for a creased transmission pan (from Novak or from a BFH)?

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

A couple more pics for measurements (@Dubs2017). Looks like the mounts were 13" give or take. I didn't plan it that way, though. Per Matt's recco, I bolted the trans crossmember in to ensure proper placement of the xfer case, and then tacked the motor mounts in wherever they landed. Here's...

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

I wanted to keep the heater lines but decided I needed to ditch them when I was fitting the engine in. I’m hoping I can find a way to reinstall them later.

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

I’m embarrassed to say that I completely forgot about that. I’ll go back and put it in this week. Though if it’s too hard, I might just run it without. It doesn’t seem like there’s much downside to not having it.

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

It did, but I had to rotate the trans mount 180 degrees from what you and I talked about (now the F is pointing toward the rear). When i tried it the other way, the transfer case was pressed up against the parking brake cover on the floor of the body. There’s actually a good amount of space...

Waking Up the LandSnoozer - A Run-of-the-Mill LS Swap

No, it’s pretty tight between the steering gear and the engine. And it’s REALLY close between the front output shaft and the transmission pan … and I’m running a SOA set up.
